Before I make suggestions I want to share my experience on a pledge this morning. A 228 CP Mag Warden que'd for the wayrest 2 on Vet as DPS. I was the tank. On the first swarm of trash mobs the targets were going down at the pace you would expect to burn down a mini-boss. At this point I raised the question was everyone ready and he said "Wait I need to put my purple stuff on." The run wasn't improving and I asked him what he was wearing. Ilambris monster set, rattlecage and a healer set that he did not elaborate on. He wasn't using any fire abilities for the additional proc on ilambris and despite queing as dps he was wearing a healer set b/c "I am not always dps." I didn't initiate a kick vote out of pity though I know a great many other high cp players wouldn't have hesitated because of the drag in performance. At the end of the run I advised googling Mag Warden DPS because I've zero experience on warden.
Personally I've never made use of Skill Advisor, but I can understand then the purpose it can serve. I believe there are some additions to it that could further help the novices.
I respect that guide makers are promoted on the website for helping to teach the player base, but that doesn't appear in Skill Advisor or on the game launcher. I believe it could be beneficial to reference them on the Skill Advisor because I do not think it would be practical to expect it to teach a player about weaving the skill selection together and properly rotating for performance.
The other addition I think would be beneficial to Skill Advisor other then the listing of primary stat would be to recommend overland sets that combine to compliment the skill build that the Advisor is assembling for them. Pointing the players in a direction for equipment would also be promoting content exploration.
Regarding Dungeon Finder, I think there should be qualifiers for queing Veteran dungeons through Dungeon Finder. I've seen this mentioned before and I believe it should be given a consideration.
DPS at one point should have to perform on a training dummy to meet a minimum DPS criteria in chosen set of gear and I don't mean something excessive like 40k+. A fair few start doing Vet just because the dungeon finder will roll them over to it after hitting CP and they are often out of their depth, separate from those who misguidedly believe they are prepared. Qualifying like this could help to skim what some call toxicity from players being attacked in chat for their performance and/or kicked from party.
