How to get more horse mounts?

There are so few horse mounts in the store, only three horse mounts. And in the stables I can buy three very standard looking horses. Are these the only horse mounts available? there has to be others I can buy.... why so few?

Yeah there are not many. I would also add that there are two horses that now come in the "special offers" packs but that is not a big help.

I can only think that the more "exotic" looking mounts sell better than horses, but that is just a guess.

Some mounts were only available as pre-purchase rewards or digital collectors edition bonus items. You might be able to get them from the Crown Store, but generally speaking you must buy an "upgrade" for whichever chapter or DLC they came with.

Other mounts and pets came in Crown Crates, and might be purchaseable in the Crown Store, but only with Crown Gems.

Exotic horses would sell insanely well. I was very lucky and got the Scarlet Senche mount from a Twitch crate and I would trade it in a heartbeat for an undead horse mount as my necromancer vampire would make a lot more sense on an undead horse. Skeletal horse, mummified horse, ghost horse, flaming hoof devil horse, just some cool horse instead of a cat.

They hardly ever put anything in the crown store any more. They now either put things in the crates, or else they offer them for a VERY limited time frame ... like they'll offer something for four days and then take it away again.

It really sucks for new players who see all these neat mounts, pets and costumes in the game, and can't actually buy them.

It's all apart of the FOMO routine they've been pulling with the cash shop for years now. Apparently it works on enough players because it's only gotten worse. At this point everyone should expect these types of manipulative marketing techniques to be used in gaming cash shops. It's making them too much money for it to stop.

I can't remember the last time I bothered to look at the clown store and would highly recommend new players avoid it as well. We all have a choice whether to feed the beast and encourage it or ignore it and hope that other players decide to do the same so that it eventually goes away.

There are many different horses available, but most are only available occasionally as part of specific offers. For example each type of crown crate includes a horse apex mount, and many of the DLC collectors editions have a horse as part of the bundle, but both of those are only available at certain times of the year.

For continuously available ones there's the brown horse from level up rewards, the 3 sold at in-game stables and then there's various crown store bundles which include them:
* Any Race in Any Alliance - Alliance War Horse (colour depends on your alliance)
* Morrowind collectors upgrade - Dwarven War Horse
* Summerset collectors upgrade - Bloodshadow Wraith
* Imperial edition upgrade (not the Imperial City DLC) - Imperial horse

Others are available periodically, but you have to look out for them because they're often only available for a few days at a time. It's one of the more extreme 'artificial scarcity' approaches I've seen, other times I've seen that used most items are available for a few weeks or months and then removed, but I suppose it works for ZOS.

Looking at these comments I so wish there were more mounts to get in game. Indrik is a step in the right direction but still feels inorganic. Wolf in archaeology seems promising.

Mounts/pets we could get from bosses very rarely like in other mmos, or tame even more rarely in the wild, or that we could craft, or fish up would be amazing. It would also ignite the collector in me and I would be much more likely to purchase crown store pets and mounts. Right now, since 90% of mounts are from the store, I don't bother.

You'd think there'd be racial mounts or alliance mounts you can buy in town or earn as you level up. Nope.

Because of their monetization model, they want all this stuff in the crown store. And more and more, they're funneling it into the crown crates. It's FOMO marketing and it's getting worse.

I'd say get the CE of the expansions when they come out and forget the rest.

Don;t get me wrong. All the normal, non-magical animals look great. It's the huge number of flashy light-up powered by Razer Chroma mounts that get old.

But I am the guy who dyes armour in colours of steel, leather and cheap cloth so...

I like those too long as they fit the character. Besides they are rare and I use normal mounts more than flashy ones unless it fits the character. For example I have the plane walker courser radiant apex horse mount, but the character is meant to be from molag bal’s realm so it makes sense and they even have the soul shrivel look to them.

I have to say that i prefer the mounts that just spawn. The ones that have an overdone animation and sound get annoying after a few mounts.

How? I looked in the store, there were only 3 horses, none of which have my interested. But someone else here mentioned ZOS's peculiar strategy of only putting other horse mounts in the store at odd short periods of time. Guess that's why I miss them.... yrgh, I have no patience to watch the store all the time.

meh, I think I'll just forget the whole ordeal and do something else. I made my outfit and character, just needed the horse. Kinda was something I wanted to do now. not in a month or two or whenever else zos decides to put them up for sale again. And dont want to buy crown crates, I HATE gambling. sigh.

Most of my horse mounts were from limited time special edition sales and crown crates. They're digital so they don't run out but they take them out of the store for marketing reasons. This game is buy to play, subscription available, dlc and expansion upgrades to buy, crown crate and crown store transactions

This game could certainly use more mounts. Maybe even dyeable saddles too. Call me picky, but I am not happy with using a mount whose color scheme clashes with that of my character. Or on the other occasion, where the color schemes match, but the specie isn't characteristic, like my High Elf riding a quar. I guess I could get used to it, though a horse or something would likely be preferable.

How about Silt Strider (Morrowind) and Carriage (Skyrim) mounts? And How about mounts associated with a faction? We do have a Dark Brotherhood mount after all, even if it's just a wolf, though my Dark Elf Assassin would probably prefer a Kagouti or something.

UESP seems to showcase an interesting assortment of mounts, so they are in the game ...files.

You can get a Dwemer Kagouti when you buy the CWC DLC pack. Might be the CE, I don't remember now, as I've had it for a couple of years.
