Players vs Gamers - Now vs Later

In the very beginning of the game;

I enjoyed the ignorance.

It was shortly after where I realized it is the same as any MMO Game.

Nonetheless, I was very excited because I created a character, "Indoril Saint Nerevar" which was very lucky to have gotten as it is the official lore based game and therefore popular and hard to get. 1 in a few million.

I am not a roleplayer but I know every bit of lore and detail about The Tribunal and The First Era, Disappearence of the Dwarves and more relative matters.

With The Elder Scrolls Online, I was able to finally bring my favourite character to the world, all because of TES3: Morrowind GOTY for Xbox Original😂

That was my first game ever. That is where my fascination and motivation to reanact Indoril Saint Nerevar began.

Today, I am one of the best Tanks for PS4 NA on TES Online and I own a Guild called ☆The Chimeri King☆ to fulfill my build and lore info as Indoril Saint Nerevar.

On top of that, I mainplay a Tank, since the start... and I have used the same gear without any changes. This gear set I use though, also coincidentally happens to be the ONLY gear sets that have NEVER BEEN NERFED OR BUFFED ONCE.

I have provided leaks, tips, I've even been a bit of a rat when I complain about botters or how bad players can grief or cheat or troll, and I have also broken the forum rules a few times out of frustration - but it was in such a borderline, unique and truthful way that I have not been banned which I am grateful for, and am currently walking on eggshells.

Is it though, because of who I am? That I have been blessed with no conviction or nerfs? Second chances and popularity? Or because there is a lot of truth in what I say?

And who better to TELL these truths and opinions, than me😂 Seriously. It's befitting that I am the one good soul who clashes against corrupted odds✊👌

I know one day, Indoril Saint Nerevar will return in-game. I know for a fact he is apart of the End Game content for ESO Lore and more, and that he did not actually die - as ESO has failed to implement this yet, is more reassuring to me because it is a big peice of this game and a very popular aspect to it.

The player community sucks, though. Especially on PS4 NA. It's hard to find people who aren't going to waste your time.... and I miss having dozens of good people to enjoy the game with like in the beginning.

Unlike now; you could literally buy a DLC and still never get into a Trial or obtain certain things, or play the DLC's content because of how other players have designed it for you and how little players even run the content; successfully or at all. Join a guild and run a randomly voted trial once per week? Ghost Town . . .

Fortunately for me, I have accomplished so much already and can do so on my own. Look who you're speaking to!

But I have empathy. I have patience. Those who know and play with me or have ever met me, know how kind, laidback and perfectly normal I am. But it's not always helpful when you are surrounded by a majority greater than your own kind.

Most people act like losers. There are a lot of Trader Guilds, if not all of them, exploiting and taking advantage. Tons of liars and bank thieves; trolls, too. That is why I only wish that I had the same ignorance I did in the beginning.

It's a burden to know these truths, and to be disrespected for speaking of it👎

It's a burden and a very hard task to find players who aren't like this but that are also good enough at the game so they wont waste your time, quit a guild after a few days/weeks, or act like a loser.

It seems that, in order to have a large guild, people to play with or completed content, you literally have to become a loser. You have to either do one, more or all of these:

read every Patch Note
play for hours every day
pay to win
bot
create/exploit multiple traders
run in circle a.k.a farming/grinding/insanity
scam
be an elitest

Next thing you know, we're no longer just players anymore.

HAPPY THOUGHTS! NEREVAR OUT!

You are wise, to quote such Legends.

Among the lands, there is a Heaven.

One will fall; as do all. But he who returns will stand tall.

    The Wheel is made

As are all good men, burdened by regret. Let us not forget, a False Gods merit.

I think it depends on how you define "the same person". What does it mean to you? The same soul reborn? I'd disagree. Seems too benign, and the last Dragonborn had a dragon soul which is inherently different on a metaphysical level. Not impossible or anything, but meh. So are they made from the same 'stuff' somehow, in anyway? Do they share memories even if they can't access them? What is it that defines them to be the 'same' somehow, is the question, y'know?

I don't find any of those reasonable, but I do agree in an abstract way.

"Each Event is preceded by Prophecy. But without the Hero, there is no Event."

For me, they are all the Hero. That doesn't mean there's any layer of existence where they have the same essence, stuff, are recycled of each other, whatever. It just means that their impact on the universe, their role, aligns with each other so well that it may as well be the same. It means the same. Their fate is a fixed point somewhere in time where there are few fix points. Their sameness isn't upon birth or creation, but a sameness they achieve through being the Hero, their actions, they impact. They become the same. Not the same person, but the same thing, the same kind of thing, the same kind of energy and existence from all angles, except maybe for the linear one we are usually given. I don't think that makes them the same person per se, because I think their 'person' as we define it through their literal actions and time on Nirn is fairly superficial. Maybe they just somehow manage to occupy the same space in the grand big scheme of things.
It's kind of based on a thought of repitition I guess, where all Events would also be the same on some level. Obviously they're not. They have all these superficial differences. But that's also just our linear understanding of time and the universe. The same path travelled again, just under a different light. With Indoril and the Nerevarine you have a very literal reincarnation business going on, and I don't think that same logic applies to the others.

But this ain't the lore forums I guess, and I'm a troll not a scholar.

I'm so offended. You called them patch notes. Not Natch Potes. I'M TELLING!

I love it when people quote the whole OP instead of just replying. =D

And I did it again. Oh no.

    "Again"

Have you met an old friend?

Seht. Wise and hiding; confided in metal, an untimely colliding. This is a loop. We do it again.

Incarnates are born, to fail at revenge. This is Nerevarine, but I am flesh.

A banished Cell, I confess. It's time we put you to the test."

You don't wanna know the things I think about Seht. But I'd do those things again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.

I'd copy/paste but that's cheating and Seht would have to punish me for using that function in such a vile manner.

It is amazing words. And that's what really made Elder Scrolls what they became. Though all lore and lore books are artificial, it somehow sounds true because authors were sincere when created that lore. Now MMO-nature of the game brought petty concerns and virtual life emulation as main reason of playing Elder scrolls, and that's where dragonborns are becoming gamers, concerned only with amount of gold on account or cosmetics instead of enjoying Elder Scrolls in a company of similarly minded people.
English is not my native language, and it is hard to formulate such thought... but I understood what you are talking about in initial post and this problems are exactly what brought this game to current state - where people ready to cry for nerfs for days or are against something new just because their fragile ego was hurt in some way. And they ready to grind for many hours a day to have more motifs/tempers/furniture whatever, but gathering guild meeting or raid is a real trouble if that meeting/raid is not somehow directly profitable.

    How to say it short...
Example: I never played TES:Arena or Daggerfall, but when I read "Real Barenziah" 15 years ago, I felt like what that "Champion" did, it is similar to what Nerevarin reincarnation was doing in TES3 and Dragonborn in TES5..
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Real_Barenziah
Eadwyre coughed diffidently. "Milady, I... we... we need your aid."

Barenziah smiled grimly at the irony. "I do believe I should be the one saying those words. But go on, please. Of what assistance might I be, Milord King?"

Quickly the monarch outlined a plot. The mage Ria Silmane, of late apprenticed to the vile Jagar Tharn, had been killed and declared a traitor by the false Emperor. Yet she had retained a bit of her powers and could still contact a few of those she had known well on the mortal plane. She had chosen a Champion who would undertake to find the Staff of Chaos, which had been hidden by the traitorous sorcerer in an unknown site. This Champion was to wield the Staff's power to destroy Jagar Tharn, who was otherwise invulnerable, and rescue the true Emperor being held prisoner in another dimension. However, the Champion, while thankfully still alive, now languished in the Imperial Dungeons. Tharn's attention must be diverted while the chosen one gained freedom with Ria's spirit's help. Barenziah had the false Emperor's ears -- and seemingly his eyes. Would she provide the necessary distraction?

Imagine, dunmer queen will be "distracting", i.e. sleeping with murderer of her husband for weeks or months or years, while some unnamed "hero" will be crawling around, leveling up alchemy, blacksmithing and hoarding gold or whatever, waiting for the moment when he will be bored enough with game world to start actually doing main quest?

This is so unlikely to any other "hero" type and in the same time alike to typical person who wants to just play and live in (game) world instead of achieving some artificial targets.. that TES became one of the most popular lore universes, despite it lacks any literature/PnP background.

In case of ESO what this "play and live" means - i.e. do the same what you were doing in TES games, but together with another people (PVE), or against another people (PVP). Instead of that, many players remain or become self-centered and while in single player games, leveling/hoarding was just a background process of exploring the world, in ESO, due to it multiplayer nature, people start to perceive it like real world value with all the consequences...

TL;DR - instead of playing the game, players are becoming centered on stockpiling virtual currency/goodies and so if some activity doesn't bring direct profit, they don't want to participate in it. That's where they stop being a Nerevar/Dragonborn/Vestiges and become typical MMORPG gamers.

    Hahaha! Actually funny.

Did you know, St Velothi came to Vvardenfell by a voice of a Dragon? It was an influence from a certain God😉 Guided him to this land and his people, via Skyrim/Greymoor routes!

This is why Indoril Nerevar was a problem. He was quite literally fated to restore perfect order or, unleash perfect chaos. His capabilities exceeded the norm. He could have achieved Thu'um,but instead he settled for immortality.

Such a shame. Or is it!

    P.S - I think I lived in Arano Manor, for TES3: Morrowind.

It means "All Maker, Plotter" for the Dragons. However, I don't think that was the name but is the meaning of the name.

It also is NOT referencing Akatosh. Instead it's actually referring to Kynareth.
