Tell ZOS giving a definite time was not a very smart thing to do.

Well i assume all times are approximate but after 20 minutes past the approximate time we need to rethink the time posted and perhaps update it..????

they should update the time, but i'm guessing what with working remotely and all - everything gets slowed down, including updating the forums

Settle down. After maintenance is complete it'll still be a couple of hours before they investigate and fix the log-in problems that follow.

I hold ZOS accountable for a lot of bad stuff they do, but going over estimates on server maintenance by an hour or two is not a big deal and should be forgiven. Sometimes they finish early, sometimes late. Most of the time, it's early.

Receiving no measurable beneficial effect of their maintenance on my gaming experience is the larger issue.

 The same thing will happen, no matter what new estimate they give. When they simply say "Maintenance May, 11, starting at X" it leaves quite a bit of time for unexpected glitches and problems. If they actually manage to finish early, they can announce it and people will be surprised.

Let's hope we don't have a repeat of last week, and we can actually get in after they are finished.

generally add like 2-5hours to when they say maintenance will end......never ends on time

Maybe it's just that I've played MMOs & other server-based games for so many years, but 1) I never expect maintenance times to match the time given; and 2) I'm always amazed at how upset people get (seeing the other threads on the front page) about something so trivial & expected (because, see #1)
