I hated it at first. I wasn't a very experienced gamer and I was so squishy I kept dying all the time. I almost gave up playing the game, but the things I enjoyed kept me playing it - riding a mount exploring Tamriel was the most enjoyable thing for me at that time. Then I fell in love with Summerset and that was that, I kept on playing. I'm glad I did, because later on I discovered how much I liked groups and playing with other people.

The crafting probably. Completing every zone one by one, following the main quest, then completing the other alliances was very engaging, but the crafting system really got me excited.

Completed every map and quest with cadwells silver and gold on 6 characters :/

Biggest would be the performance. I still remember getting maybe 200-220 ping in most zones, from Australia, and even getting down as far as 180 in a few places. Now? 250-300, at best.

Next would be proper class identity. Each class actually felt different, rather than merely looking different. Sure, it was OP, but I firmly believe balancing OP skills around other OP skills is far better than balancing all skills around a mediocre spreadsheet-driven combat standard.

Really miss the state of overland back then, overland actually felt enjoyable to quest and explore in, it was actually engaging and required doing more than mashing a single button.

For me, it was enjoying exploring more of Tamriel. Going down different roads to see what was there. Yes, I did all the quests in all the zones on two different characters when I first started playing the game. Some of the side quests were very interesting such as the quest in Shadowfen where you get the skeleton polymorph as a reward. Many of the stories were so well written.

What did you enjoy most when you first starting playing ESO?

What I enjoyed most when I started playing ESO was the community and people running around like noobs trying to understand how the game works. People attacked word bosses, died, asked for help etc. I just love the first weeks in any mmo.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Making new characters, experimenting with custom builds, and roleplaying. The setting was robust, the lore dense and with preset animations (personalities) and tons of emotes the RP possibilities seemed endless. Alas, I don't RP anymore since without a designated server or shard we can't find each other.

In my heart I still like to be lore friendly though.

PC NA. Various alts, trying to find a main, I have no idea what I'm doing.

I've played since the server stress tests in 2014. Prior to launch, I avoided all websites, fourms and videos etc to ensure that I would have no idea what was next, what it looked like or how anything worked apart from what I learned playing during those tests.

I even choose a completely different faction and class at launch to my beta toons. I had almost no idea what was in store for me when the game launched.

The amazing the sense of discovering an entirely new world where I'd have to find my own way or fail is what I enjoyed most.

I've played pretty much ever since and I don't know whether I'd recommend my approach, but I still miss that early sense of discovery and learning sometimes.

stepping out into the world for the very first time - had that all important 'Wow!' factor.

then exploring, questing and levelling up - interesting and satisfying. And getting to vet cap - was a good challenge.

Sadly the game has been dissected, butchered and pulled apart and there are so many longstanding unfixed major issues, especially in Cyrodiil, that it's a shadow of its once imperfect but glorious former self.

There was no loot crates, everthing good was put on the store for crowns that you could straight up buy and there was always crates/costumes/mounts/pets on the daily login every month. ..Its depressing to look at now after you've experienced that.

People didn't ask for your DPS/Healing/Gear requirements to do a simple dunegon and the game actually started you off on the right map, with the main story line.

I've played on and off since it was first released, taking breaks now and then for RL, but I enjoyed exploring the maps and questing with the voice over made it so much better, it helped suck me in more, still does :3
The people and the friends we have lost... ...or the dreams that have faded... Never forget them.

I've played from elder scrolls where boots could fly oo what if lol..would be funny in cyro..But then elder scrolls as every-one who plays morphs or rpg's knows this is best one out there if they "betha /eso "could get the balance on there server's right before adding more probs. I play because its content and graphics are the best in the current climate despite its list of probs and yes there is a list even if them that must be obeyed deny it..:P

It was only a year ago for me but the first thing that got me hooked was not knowing what the hell was going on. I was at a wayshrine, probably after dying, in a place where I had to investigate three wizards' towers (I think it must have been Vvardenfell) and there were literally some other players duelling. Working out how mechanics, quests, skills and whatever work is always my favourite part of a new game but this was mind-melting. I loved how complicated everything was (it took me until level 47 on my first character to realise I could learn crafting skills, which is probably a record, right?) and I still do although I understand most things a lot better now.

    [/quote]

I enjoyed the ignorance. Hear me out.

It was shortly after where I realized it is the same as any MMO Game.

Nonetheless, I was very excited because I created a character, "Indoril Saint Nerevar" which was very lucky to have gotten as it is the official lore based game and therefore popular and hard to get. 1 in a few million.

I am not a roleplayer but I know every bit of lore and detail about The Tribunal and The First Era, Disappearence of the Dwarves and more relative matters.

With The Elder Scrolls Online, I was able to finally bring my favourite character to the world, all because of TES3: Morrowind GOTY for Xbox Original😂

That was my first game ever. That is where my fascination and motivation to reanact Indoril Saint Nerevar began.

Today, I am one of the best Tanks for PS4 NA on TES Online and I own a Guild called ☆The Chimeri King☆ to fulfill my build and lore info as Indoril Saint Nerevar.

On top of that, I mainplay a Tank, since the start... and I have used the same gear without any changes. This gear set I use though, also coincidentally happens to be the ONLY gear sets that have NEVER BEEN NERFED OR BUFFED ONCE.

I have provided leaks, tips, I've even been a bit of a rat when I complain about botters or how bad players can grief or cheat or troll, and I have also broken the forum rules a few times out of frustration - but it was in such a borderline, unique and truthful way that I have not been banned which I am grateful for, and am currently walking on eggshells.

Is it though, because of who I am? That I have been blessed with no conviction or nerfs? Second chances and popularity? Or because there is a lot of truth in what I say?

And who better to TELL these truths and opinions, than me😂 Seriously. It's befitting that I am the one good soul who clashes against corrupted odds✊👌

I know one day, Indoril Saint Nerevar will return in-game. I know for a fact he is apart of the End Game content for ESO Lore and more, and that he did not actually die - as ESO has failed to implement this yet, is more reassuring to me because it is a big peice of this game and a very popular aspect to it.

The player community sucks, though. Especially on PS4 NA. It's hard to find people who aren't going to waste your time.... and I miss having dozens of good people to enjoy the game with like in the beginning.

Unlike now; you could literally buy a DLC and still never get into a Trial or obtain certain things, or play the DLC's content because of how other players have designed it for you and how little players even run the content; successfully or at all. Join a guild and run a randomly voted trial once per week? Ghost Town . . .

Fortunately for me, I have accomplished so much already and can do so on my own. Look who you're speaking to!

But I have empathy. I have patience. Those who know and play with me or have ever met me, know how kind, laidback and perfectly normal I am. But it's not always helpful when you are surrounded by a majority greater than your own kind.

Most people act like losers. There are a lot of Trader Guilds, if not all of them, exploiting and taking advantage. Tons of liars and bank thieves; trolls, too. That is why I only wish that I had the same ignorance I did in the beginning.

It's a burden to know these truths, and to be disrespected for speaking of it👎

It's a burden and a very hard task to find players who aren't like this but that are also good enough at the game so they wont waste your time, quit a guild after a few days/weeks, or act like a loser.

It seems that, in order to have a large guild, people to play with or completed content, you literally have to become a loser. You have to either do one, more or all of these:

    read every Patch Note
    play for hours every day
    pay to win
    bot
    create/exploit multiple traders
    run in circle a.k.a farming/grinding/insanity
    scam
    be an elitest

    HAPPY THOUGHTS! NEREVAR OUT!
