Will those that previously bought the skill line have it maxed out when this is updated? I literally just bought this.

Probably not since there is another token to max out the skill line if you've already maxed it out on another character.

No, @BmcD73, this only gives you a bite ... you still have to level your skills.

Skill progress does transfer over the patch (for the skills being retained in the new skill line), however.

Next you’ll be able to buy lv50’s, mythic gear maps and champion points.

No, @BmcD73, this only gives you a bite ... you still have to level your skills.

They are introducing a new "Upgrade" in May which maxes out the skill-line; all skills unlocked. You just have to allocate skill points, depending on how many you have waiting to be used.

The current upgrade is the one that gives you just the bite, requiring that you do all of the work to level the line to unlock the skills.

I don't imagine you will be automatically upgraded to the new version if you purchased the current version.

I read this as a replacement to the existing crown store item. If it is a replacement, I would assume it would level those that purchased it. If it is an entirely new item, then I would not.

I don't believe it's correct to understand it as a replacement, otherwise the showcase would have stated that the current bite was being removed and replaced. (Even if it were a replacement, I wouldn't assume it would be applied retroactively -- look at the previous Any Race, Any Alliance change, and also at what they're doing to vMA/vDSA weapons, which aren't even crown store purchases.)

It's completely feasible (and draws more money in the end) to have two separate upgrades: the bite itself, and then the maxing out of the skill line. It also wouldn't make too much sense to replace the bite with an upgrade that requires you to have maxed the skill line on a separate toon first, as the skill line upgrade does. That means you had to have gotten the bite somewhere else already (from an NPC or other player), which would mean ZOS would lose out on a potential sale. It would be more profitable to sell players both things independently.

You have confused the buyable bite with the new buyable Vampire skill line.

It is not even available yet. Additionally it is not a replacement, since it is a completely different product.

The Vampire Skill Line will be available in the Crown Store with the launch of Greymoor and Update 26 coming May 26, 2020 for PC/Mac and June 9, 2020 for Xbox One and PlayStation®4.

So yes, when you are able to purchase the new product when it comes out, it will work. To purchase you will have to have a maxed out vampire character.

The curse just gives you vampirism....No different than a bite from another player.

They are separate products and will continue to be.

Hope this helps settle the confusion. @BmcD73 :)

You are right. Thanks. This line in the post I think clears it up:

"Note that you can purchase a Skill Line unlock only if you have reached the maximum rank in that same Skill Line on at least one of your characters (and, as a result, earned the relevant Achievement)."

It's a skill line unlock like Mage Guild or Psijic skill line. You have to unlock it on one toon and then you can buy it on the others. I misread this as sort of an upgrade to the bite purchase that it gives you the maxed out skill line.

PSA: Please never buy that in the crownstore ever again. The are a million RPers out there that would love to bite you for free.
