Hey guys im having a really tough time choosing between MagSorc and magplar.
I love pvp(espicaly solo) and in every game i love beeing a mage(fire ice lightning), im not a big fan of pets.
Having a hard time choosing between the two for casualy solo pve and mainly solo and bgs pvp

I have mained a sorc since i started playing and consider it the most fun to play. ( i play pets pve, and no pets pvp).

However, magplar is pretty much over performing in all aspects of the game. And as you have no interest in pets, there is almost no reason to go sorc over plar unless you really love streaking in pvp. As far as i can tell, plars are still in a really good place for the foreseeable future.

I tend to hate facing magsorcs on my PvP characters while most magplars are pretty easy. I don't either class a lot, but have seen magsorcs without pets being effective there.

Really though, make 2 characters, one of each, and try them both out and see which one you enjoy the most to play. The meta for which class is the best changes every now and then, having a class you find fun to play will make the game more enjoyable in the long run. Especially for casual PvE which is easy and can be done on almost any spec. And in PvP, player skill with a class/spec is way more important than having a BiS class anyway.

Magplar

Magplar is so much easier. If that's what you want. Magsorc has a higher skillcap for sure, but amazing magsorcs are amazing - but utterly annoying. Personally I'm not good at all at magsorc, but it's easy being "decent" on a magplar - even for total scrubs!

It's like choosing between ultra easy (magplar) and pretty hard (sorc). If someone can play his class you have no chances on sorc. If you build your magplar right it's a cyro destroyer.

And if you will choose sorc get ready for damage going through your shields even if its applied...

It is a hard choice given your preferences.

Sorceror - you don't really need to use the pets if you don't want to, but the extra lightning might appeal to you... the streak is especially useful for getting out of a tight situation... but it can take a bit more skill to play well.

Templar - its more of a "holy magic priest caster" flavor, but... can be really, really effective, especially when playing solo, as it has it all, from selfheals to the dreaded "jesus beam"... and works -very- well with resto and flame staves.

In the end, its more a style choice.

Do wou prefer warm golden holy-ish light to power your character? Or cold blue lightning and dark magics?
Do you see your dreamed of character more as the "inquisition" type (yeah, I know, noone expected that... ), or more as the "forbidden knowledge" type?

Of course, you can always make two and decide which you like better once you played them a while...

Mag sorc sounds more like your thing they are good to but here’s my opinion mag sorc if you want to have fun magplar for effortless pvp as magplar is over performing. The only class above magplar is stamcro balance is real 🤣

If its keeping up buffs (which is one of the things that i hate the most ) then i think magplar is for me
