Basically, title.. After taking a longer game break, I was told today that bow users can have 2 full set bonuses without counting jewelry, but I don't really see how.?

All 2 handed weapons (including bows) count as 2 items for set pieces. Yes, bow users can have 2 5 piece bonus.

well you'd need at least 1 jewelry piece since there are 7 clothing slots, 2 weapon slots and 1 jewelry slot to = 10 for 2 5 piece sets. I craft for a lot of people who ask for 2 5 piece to combine with their monster sets so they do need all 3 jewelry pieces.
So yes now that bows get 2 slots that's much easier to do.

All characters have 12 slots. My archers all wear two full 5 piece sets and two monster pieces.

Are you not counting jewelry then? 7 armor pieces, and 1 weapon that counts for 2, only makes 9

Edit: From what I see, based on your answers, almost all of you ignored the "no jewelry" detail?

You can have 3 body pieces for each set and the only have a bow on each bar for each set. That leave all jewelry plus one for other stuff

People are basing it all on the assumption that two of the 7 armor slots is a two-piece Monster set (Head + Shoulders). Which leaves 10 slots (3 jewelry + 2 weapon + 5 armor) for the two 5-piece sets.

Thank you for explaining that detail  I am not counting monster sets, as dungeons and such are not really my thing.. What I was interested in knowing, was if it was possible without jewelry, on "standard" armor/gear.. It would seem though, that is not  gotta get that jewelry crafting maxed then.. Thank you for the answers

You are right then. Without jewelry you do indeed only have 9 slots. Only one 5 piece bonus.

I rarely craft jewelry. Most of my characters wear a dropped 'overland' set of jewelry. Spriggans is a nice dropped set for stam characters. Mother's Sorrow and Necropotence (for pet users only) are solid choices for mages.

It is too bad there is not an easy alternative to optimizing all 12 slots without monster helm sets. I suspect that is what drives a lot of players to 'farm' dungeons that they are perhaps not qualified or ready for - leading to frustration for them as well as their group. I believe dungeons should be enjoyed or avoided. It is easy to recognize those who are there to farm; they race through as fast as possible rather than enjoying the dungeon, the combat or the group they are with.

    @Ackwalan

How can any player equip 2-5 piece sets with only armor and weapons? No jewelry as that is what OP is asking.

Without jewelry, as the question states, 7 slots for armor and 2 for weapons seem to add up to 9 slots for set bonuses. That would seem to allow for only one 5 piece set and 4 pieces from a second set.

Either you misread or I need some enlightenment.

OP. You can have 2-5 piece sets plus 2 pieces but that includes all 3 slots for jewelry included.

Edit. The other two pieces would be monster sets. It used to be a 2H build had to choose between having 2-5 piece sets or having a monster set back when those types of weapons only counted as one slot for the set bonus.

To the OP: I think you'd need to ask whoever told you that for clarification. Maybe they meant with one piece of jewelry, or maybe they meant something else? (See below.)

To everyone else: I wonder if whoever said that to the OP could have meant two different 5-item set bonuses at different times by swapping weapons? That wouldn't require using a bow, since it could work with any two-handed weapon, dual one-handed weapons, or sword and board, but maybe the reference to using a bow was just part of the general advice or info that the person was giving to the OP?

For instance, you could do the following:

    7 pieces of armor-- 3 of set A, 3 of set B, and 1 of set C
gear on front bar-- 2 of set A
gear on back bar-- 2 of set B
    jewelry-- 3 of set C

Other than something like that, I don't see how the "without jewelry" comment makes any sense.

You can buy the head and shoulder Monster Set pieces from the Golden merchant in your Alliance's base camp in Cyrodiil. Each will cost you 100k gold and the Golden offers two different head or shoulder pieces every weekend. The selection is drawn by an RNG, but if you are patient, you will eventually get the set you want. That is how I got the vast majority of mine for my 15 level 50 characters.

If you want to solo things, the Mighty Chudan head piece currently offered is a good start. Buy it, and wait for shoulders. Or just get some Undaunted Keys during the events that drop them in the reward boxes and then hope to be lucky with the RNG.
