I'm confuse how to use pets.. I always saw pet sorcerer as a damage overtime buddy by your side. So in pvp pets ultimately equate to as the fight goes on. The damage over time kill a player. Well the issue I'm having is after all the DEVASTATING NERFS. As fights goes on the damage over time never kills targets. I played play sorcerer for 5 years and I'm trying to find a competitive pvp build... PET SORCERER IS IN A TERRIBLE spot. Please anyone help me with a build in pvp.

Keep the Twilight Matriarch for a burst heal, you don't need the Familiar in PvP.

Double pet sorc isn't very good in pvp. Accept it, adjust your build, and move on.

    Be an nuisance.
    Mix and match:
Atro, matriarch, scamp, trapping webs, daedric prey, empowered ward
Maw of infernal, shadowrend, EG, sentinel, stormfist, selene
Mad tinkerer, icy conjurer, morkuldin, defiler, unfathomable darkness, aegis
    Necropotence, hunt leader

The pets' purpose is to annoy everyone, the sorcerer included. That's why many ask for builds without pets and are willing to sacrifice some dps to avoid these creatures. That goes for pvp and pve.

As a non pet sorc I've noticed that pets often prevent me from targeting their user. And I happen to often attack the pets instead by accident. Also, you can spam their heals.

Lets see, Twilight Matriarch - average 1500 shock damage (on my tank build Non CP) 15K+ heal for 2 friends, +20 Health and Stamina recovery, +8% health, oh and a pain in the arse if you want to target me.

Any other skills offer that? even after she was nerfed to hell.

Magsorc with 1 pet is still in an insanely good spot, thats why it is still, even with the huge Templarplayerbase, one of the most used classes, especially by AD, stupid Highelves.
The Pets Bodyblock you permanentely, they heal, they pull enemies out of sneak and if we talk about NBs even out of cloak, just because they can attack everything and everyone and don't give a damn about los, they shoot through walls, gates, stones and so on. And they are just annoying by being on your screen.
And as Knightpanther said they provide you with more buffs than any other abillity in the game.

I seem to get better burst healing out of my Clannfear than out of my Twilight Matriarch, so I always try to keep both of them out in a tough fight. Then I put them away, because combat pets that block stuff are so dang annoying.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

Thanks all for your input but I'm honestly looking for a usefulness to pets in pvp. I'm running out of ideas. I'm honestly hope someone anyone has a competitive double pet sorcerer pvp build. If you do kindly also include a bar set up

for many of us who spend waaaaay too much time hanging out in cyro - the point becomes just having fun...only started playing a pet sorc a couple of years ago - with: matriarch, familiar, maw of the infernal and mad tinkerer all running around all over the place - it's more about fun (sort of like role playing) than maximum effectiveness...

to be honest, cyro doesn't really require the best build possible to enjoy yourself...

if anything, I'd suggest having multiple toons with different build types...

Pets can heal a group, deal damage, block line of sight and best of all harass a poor NB who just can’t seem to get back into stealth.

Pets maximum efficiency is by push max magic. So the issue is I can be 100%offense. And play against the advantage Joe build. Do 1m damage compare to 30k damage of another build and the 30k damage basically unreachable 1 shot kill me... with the percentage of damage or offense done being me at 90%offense and damage done and LOSING to massive tanking. I'm just looking to be competitive. Its extremely one side. Any suggestions

    Hah!

Yup. They are used to get in your enemies way and help prevent you getting targeted.

They are basically just a pain in the arse.

I always thought the point of pets for a sorc in pvp was to get between you and your attacker, stop them from closing the gap against you, being the ideal large hit box to take the hits off you. Let others who don’t see the potential for usefulness suffer for not understanding your potential strengths. ;)
