Healing in eso

Hi guys.
After too much time spent playing I have come to this conclusion.
Healing in this game is dumb. This is why we are asked to do other things.
Dungeon: just have two competent DD and u can watch netflix while playing
Trial: just spam for ffs and dont die

There is no skill involved. And before u start barking at me: have u ever been in a progression guild in prime wow?

You seem to think most DD in this game are competent when most of them would get shredded in a normal dlc dungeon without heals. People really overestimate the skill level of the average pug, and as someone who has pugged to Pluto and back in this game, the average DD and some healers need lasik surgery to see all of the easily avoidable damage they tend to die to.

i agree about the dungeon part, but for trials is different. Healers are (in collaboration with the tanks) the ones who buff the group, debuff bosses and mobs, provide resources, etc., it's not a "spam-healing-spring" only.
I healed for about 2 years in endgame contents and it was super fun

Everytime someone says that they dont need healer or tank that we can dd it, pretty much this

I dont even bother going to just-dd runs anymore

They always ruin it and make an ez 10 min dungeon stressful

Can u explain to me what u do in trials that require skill?
Buff and debuff uptime are not skill in my opinion. Just use the right addons

Take a warden tank. With 40+hp his polar Wind heals him for 20k hp not crit.
If he doesnt have big neurologic problems can survive without an healer

I loved playing a healer in WoW - a mix of small burst heals, managing regens, casttime large heals, purging debuffs, and warding. Most of them single target so target prioritization and timing was absolutely crucial.

In ESO, every heal heals everything. Except when you pvp and want to cast regen or healing ward on yourself..
This smart healing is so smart, it's stupid.

The Psijic Mend Wounds skill is pretty cool tho cuz it at least requires some targeting.

Yup. And again one thing that plagues these forums is the constant attempt to belittle who u are arguing with without being REAL data that prove one's point.

Ie: healing with a matriarche is hard but u dont know what i do so i am right

Have u have ever been main healer while trying to beat naxx? That is what i mean as skill

You are so right that i feel embarased now. I just want to feel im an important piece of the team

i know your feeling, but in endgame the role of the healer is crucial. Find some trial group and you'll see that a good healer can make the difference between a low or a big score

Never been into score gameplay. But maybe i am missing the fact that the proression in eso IS the leaderbard. Il try

Yes, I actually played WoW as a healer for quite a few years before switching to GW2 and then ESO. Of course healing in WoW is a lot more complex than in ESO, but that is expected from a tab target MMO. Complex healing mechanics do not work in action combat MMOs because we do not have target macros, modifying keys or mouse over addons.

Yeah sorry. Il whine less and try harder to play the role eso style
