Some men's cod pieces are larger than others? Though really, it would be fun. Apparently they were popular through the middle ages (and still are in some places today). I guess that's the price we pay with the restriction of playing online - yes my name is Christian, and I still can't name any of my characters by my given name.

Don't! You'll trigger something... Is it warm in here?

Ah, someone who remembers Blackadders "Black Russian"? :p;)

But as I once posted... they most likely would make that sort of thing a crown store purchase!

It would be nice to have a few more choices that showed some skin...

"Here are your 80 motifs for chest armor."

"I want to use one of the dozens of body markings I've gotten in the Crown Crates."

    "Go ahead."

"I also want to SEE the markings when I've got my armor on."

"Oh... then here are your 2 motifs for chest armor. Fang Lair and Wood Elf."

I think it's mostly down to modeling more than anything else. the overhanging bits of armor help hide crimes and in many cases help blend disparate styles together allowing for greater levels of mix and match. If they were to remove those "buffer" parts on the armors you would find stuff fits weird. The rigging is also tied to body sliders which affect how armor "sits" on the character.

For instance in order to give my male character a posterior that doesn't look like I slid down a cheese grater, it ends up making those flaps you hate so much float above my characters backside like I'm wearing some sort of invisible crinoline (which isn't really a good look) but if you go too far in the opposite direction it makes armors that don't have the flaps look really strange.

They seem to get around these issues lately with newer armors that forcibly shrink or enlarge your player body to make the fit much better, but again that can lead to some unnaturally small looking body parts.

I do get the annoyance though, my own personal pet peeve are floating shoulder pads. They drive me bonkers and limit some of my choices because of it. They are also tied to the character sliders as shoulders that float on one character don't on other characters. I feel like they could fix this by adding more attachment options in the outfit system (not armor pieces) but would require quite a bit more work than I suspect devs will likely want to invest in. All that said I would love to see more variation of styles and they do seem to be heading in that direction but I suspect how far of a difference they can move is held back by them trying to keep the older sets within reasonable ranges so that there is as much mix and match as possible and older motifs don't become ignored.

    Oh.

    Ouch.

    You just broke my brain.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

There is only one style I can think of in theg ame that has none of them and its the Pyandonean style. Seems the Sea Elves are the only ones that have escaped the horrible Tamrielic style.

Because otherwise, armor in this game looks like a spandex suit.

None said remove all the styles with flaps a rags, just add one without from time to time. Or some outfit style chest pieces with no flaps.

TBH, what bothers me is how they float around the hips when the character is moving. Also it is more annoying on female chars because the flaps tend to float further and it is more obvious.

Every armor set seems to have a flap of some kind. Sometimes a crotch flap, sometimes a butt flap, sometimes both. Sometimes they've got hip armor, or books on the hip, or scrolls.

What's the deal with that? Why does every armor have to have at least one of the above? Can't we just get more normal, flapless sets?

when you are running, do you want mud to fly in your crack? I don't think so.

Can you imagine trying to sneak around IRL with a crotch flap?

You need to go to imgur, paste that link into the area set up for it, then once the link loads into imgur, you'll see three dots at the top right corner of the image. Click the dot area, and from the menu select get share links, then select BBCode (forums), then copy the provided link and past here into your post.

The url in your post isn't an image but a tokenized search result. I had to plumb into it to get the actual image url. Basically continually clicking until I could right click for "open image in new tab", then I could copy the image url (address).

Once you have the full url to your image, you can put the bbcode image tages around it, eg:

    {img} https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1236/526906101_ec1242f71e_z.jpg
    {/img}

But using square braces ([ ]) instead of curly ones ({ }). I hope that help you out a bit 😉

It's a technical cheese. The flaps hide poorly rendered texture seams in the crotch area while moving.

armour through out time has involved that kind of thing, I think you're just cherry picking.
