What about temporary double drops for vMA after U26?

If current vMA weapons will not be upgraded to Perfected (even for people who owned these weapons back when they WERE Perfected), what if the inconvenience of having to re-grind vMA was mitigated with double drops for Maelstrom weapons for a few weeks after U26 drops?
While I would rather have current vMA weapons upgraded, this would certainly make me feel better than nothing, and seems like a fair compromise. Some people had to run 50+ times to get a Maelstrom Inferno Staff. It's frustrating to have that progress reset for players who want to optimize their build and pursue character progression. I know people who have been working on vMA who are giving up until the Perfected versions drop.
Double drops would lessen the impact on the community as a whole, improve the bad feel on the forums and discord servers, let the devs hold to their decision to not upgrade existing weapons, and still renew interest in vMA for a while with less of a begrudging feeling
Just some thoughts I had. What does everyone else think?

As I mentioned, I would also prefer weapons to be upgraded, as would a lot of us. Just wondering if anyone else would prefer to have the the repeat grind cut in half. To your point, it's still a repeat grind

✭✭✭✭✭It’s a good idea, but things tend to get laggy during double drop events when everyone is farming vMA. It might be better to let the initial flood of farming die down and have a double drop event a month or 2 after release.0
