ESO WHY, CAN'T I DYE MASK OR ARMOR THE COLOR I WANT.

I been playing this game for years. Without a doubt the coolest aspect of the game is the customization. I love it. Its honestly the best customization of any game I EVER PLAYED..HOWEVER why CAN'T I dye some items the way I want to. WHY AM I LIMITED to some items not being dye a true legate black. Some item simply won't dye to the colors I want. GIVE ME THE CUSTOMIZATION I WANT. This game has some of the coolest costume and HATS EVER.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FIX ITEMS TO DYE TO THE COLOR THE PLAYER WANT.

Also can we get a option to hide are shoulder. Hide are shoulder as in 100% Shoulder less look. THAT WOULD BE AMAZING

You should make a note of which items are not dying the colour you think they should. Then report each item and dye slot that isn't dying correctly (per your expectation). If it seems to be a material (say anything that looks like leather/hide before dying) that might help narrow down your request.

From my understanding and experience a lot of pieces seem to take the base material colour and mix it with your dye colour - which can lead to some strange results (Magnus Red looks very purple on some things lol).

I would also like a "hide shoulder" option similar to "hide helm" in the future though. Sometimes my outfits just don't fit with any shoulders that well.

It just needs some dev love. It's a big part of the game overlook. But honestly it's one of the best part of eso.... the customization is second to none.

When it's not fixable then atleast zos should integrate a dye option in the clownstore for the most common colors used to see the results.

that depends on your playstyle. For someone with no interest in pvp and the whinefest that surrounds it even without the lag the issue with dyes is actualy more important.

Out side of hiding shoulders (which I will always support)...

It is all based on how the Design(s)/Costumes are presented. Naturally it would be safe to assume they are suppose to present the aspect of different fabrics and materials, giving a pseudo realism. Which can be beneficial or lack luster.

Think of it as fashion design, well... a very basic introduction to it. Certain leathers, metals and fabrics in the real world will have different results to dyes that are applied to them - it takes time, adjustments and rework after rework to get that personal perfection one seeks.

Sometimes simplicity will outshine overly detailed, and visa versa.

Work with what you have right now, while you detail a better idea...

As well, while working on a better idea, remember, instead of demanding it to be changed for the sake of change. Collaborate with the community on how and what would be the best changes that will benefit the community as a whole instead of few singular aspects on personal reasons.

You might want to send a couple of screenshots of what you're having trouble with, @phoenixkungfu ... but Legate Black works fine on most outfits and costumes.

You might want to send a couple of screenshots of what you're having trouble with, @phoenixkungfu ... but Legate Black works fine on most outfits and costumes.

Well I thank you for feedback but honestly I just want the color I want. The detail and real life stuff is nice but if I want LEGATE BLACK. WELL THEN I WANT LEGATE BLACK. I get it from a dev point of view all the hard work and details of costume and armor are just black out with a color like LEGATE black but if I spend crown and that what I like. DONT LIMIT ME. ITS LIMITING THE BEST PART OF ESO EXPERIENCE. that fantasy of customization the way I want. ESO IS THE BEST OF THIS BUT ITS MISS THE ELEMENTS OF THIS POST.

Can you post some screenshots of what you're trying to do so forum-goers can at least help?

If the issue is you don't have Legate Black and you don't want to PvP for it ... that's a whole separate discussion.

a example of what I'm talking about is color like LEGATE black on hollowjack and assassin's league.. LEGATE BLACK is a deep dark black. I honestly wear these style just for the color LEGATE BLACK

On deadhorn, legate black is TERRIBLE. IT NOTHING LIKE THE color on ASSASSIN'S LEAGUE. SAME APPLIES TO ANY MASK. LEGATE black is terrible. It's a shame because I love the mask and dread horns guards.

We should be happy that we can dye everything that we can as of right now.
Earlier there was more limitations on what we could dye.

And then we have the big MMOs out there that still can't dye at all and have to be stuck with that they can manage as they mix & match armour pieces to try and make it all match.

O I see, its alot of work to just make color all equal 1 color no matter the look or style. Well I'm not sure about the amount of work involve. But it all color could equal the same color no matter the style I can assure two thing will happen. MORE MONEY FOR ESO AND ITS WHAT THE COMMUNITY WANTS. Large Moriarty of player dont buy items because they cant dye it the way they want it. That ALOT of items that can instantly have value to the community and financial institutions of eso. Just by giving us freedom of colors. The money made on this would be worth the labor. Its ALOT OF MEAT ON THE BONE MISSING.

But then again what do I know I'm just the guy the once spend 8million gold on crown creates from someone the brought the crown creates. It not like I understand the economy or anything.

To just change for the sake of change will be detrimental in the short and long run rather fast. I personally know plenty who buy from the store (spending thousands of dollars) and have spent years to get their characters to look a specific and certain way and to suddenly have that all change would cause them to leave (including two other large guilds I am in who solely focus fashion and character images would probably drop as well - silly I know, but still a very good plausibility of happening).

This is why you team up with others to create an idea/concept to help better the system as a whole with the community, to see the criticism and scrutiny presented and break it down, build it up multiple times, over and over until it looks and feels flawless and support from the vast majority.
Might have to borrow ideas from older ideas, change them around, turn down your own ideas and find someone else to suggest it more logically, with a rational articulation so more can understand and get behind it. It doesn't matter if your going for a simple change or massive, it will be meet with criticism, scrutiny - even those who support it will offer changes to make it fit. Goal is to let it evolve and show that it can gain and hold onto support and be utilized as a fun feature that can bring profit while still accessible to those who choose not to support it in the same manner - this isn't just meant for just this system, for all suggestions, in any aspect of the game. The more focused and support the more notice it will obtain, long as it is tactful.

There is nothing to "fix", what you're experience is an intentional design choice. Different material types interact with light in different ways and that affects how an item dyes.

Have you tried some of the colors under the RARE dye section? Some of them will APPEAR BLACK on certain materials even though the square representing the dye does not LOOK BLACK. This might HELP YOU AND IT MIGHT NOT. Check it out.

YEAH FAM, some dyes have both PRIMARY AND SECONDARY colors that InTeRpLaY DIFFERENTLY ON different MATERIALS. So you sometimes have to mix and MATCH different SWATCHES to get the cohesive VISUAL result you're LOOKING FOR.
