Cadwell's Almanac order?

Hi, i am an altmer which belongs to aldmeri dominion. when i started my character, i completed my main quest line first, and then cadwell asked me to complete ebonheart pact story quests(silver) so skipped my own alliance's(aldmeri dominion) story quest.
And then i completed silver almanac(ebonheart pact) and cadwell congragulated me on completing two alliances. But in reality, i did not complete aldmeri dominion quests. So i am confused. Did i miss something? Is there an order to Cadwell's Almanac? Also why are alliances ranked as "silver" and "gold"? Is gold almanac reward better or what?

    When the game launched you had to do your alliance quests first then you were able to see the other two via the Cadwell quests. In the three alliance zones from the base game you never saw players from the other alliances which also means triple the server design requirement. So with the original design, it was not possible to complete the silver part without first finishing your home alliance. Clearly Zos did not change the quest dialogue.

    Further, all the zones were level gated. We would be about Lvl 50 when finishing Coldharbor after doing our main alliance. Silver was about vet ranks 1-5 and gold was vet ranks 6-10. Essentially each of those groups was just a little less leveling a character to 50 but back then it took even more time than today. It was a dumb design by pretty much any standard.

    So yes, in a manner of speaking you missed the original design of the order. However, it is not that big of a deal because you can still do the quests.

    Probably more info than you bargained for.

    No, the reward for finishing the Silver Quest is much better than the reward you get for finishing the Gold Quest. I don't know why.
