How do you setup your Magcro for endgame PvE ?

I am trying not to have more than %50 crit or %60 if i use reanimate instead of colossus double bar. Also do you use Lightning staff front bar or fire staff ? Because magcro has lots of aoe and i heard lightning staff actually deals more damage even on single target combined with magcro.

Gear combinations i like so far - FG+ES(elemental succession)+(zaan,illambris,kjalnar - depending on situation), Siroria+SS, Siroria+ES, FG+MS(just for AOE),

I just use MS+FG for everything.

    Always Inferno because DKs exist.

I have my magcro set up with False Gods + Mothers Sorrow + Maw of the Infernal for most content. Will switch to Grothdar if the content I'm playing has a lot of trashmobs.

My lightning staff is infused with a berzerker glyph (increased weapon + spell dmg), my inferno staff is precise with an absorb magika glyph, and I have 3x blood thirsty rings.

I considered using Siroria over False Gods, but I got a full FG set first and I really like the extra sustain. I'm sure I'd do more DPS with Siroria in fights where I can turret, but I haven't gotten a full setup yet and getting one is not really a priority at this time. Right now I'm trying to get a Necropotence set for my new petsorc.

For single target double inferno is better, for trash it is lightning frontbar, inferno backbar. In terms of sets I use FG+MS+Ilambris or Siroria+MS+Ilambris, both with MSA staff of course, depending on how static the fight is. In AOE I use FG+New Moon with MSA staff backbar and master staff frontbar.

^ This. Although for single target mobile fights I prefer FGD + SS because with precise it gives just under 60% crit front bar, which means 4 Grave Lord skills front bar puts crit at 100% in execute. With Sorrow + FGD you should use Infused or Nirnhoned (which is a weaker trait) and move something to back bar, leaving only 3 Grave Lord skills front bar.

Ilambris is good everywhere on Magcro, sometimes even beating Zaan. Kjalnar is a terrible set that doesn’t even work well on Magden (the build that gets a 20% bonus to its damage).

You can do what you like within certain parameters.

My favorite off-meta magCro setup is: Succession, Draugrkin's Grip, Ilambris, and Double-Damage poisons. The idea is to get as many concurrent damage ticks as possible in order to maximally benefit from the Draugrkin proc. Draugrkin is sneaky-good on any class that utilizes a bunch of DoTs (so basically magDK and magCro).

Otherwise, it's Succession and False God's.

I'm personally not good enough with Siroria to get it to work well in basically any situation outside of Sunspire dragons, but I hear that some are, and in that case it will be better than False God's if you can manage the sustain.

PFG body, infused MS inferno front bar, Maelstrom inferno back. Only 3 grave lord skills on front bar so I don't over crit. Monster set varies depending on the situation.

For dummy parses and stuff I certainly run SS with precise, but at least for vSS MS with infused and three Necro skills frontbar is doing better for me.

That’s funny, I do exactly the opposite. Since front bar Orb doesn’t give any passives, I prefer putting Arcanist or Boneyard there for vSS as a 4th GL skill. On a dummy I use Entropy instead of Orb, and it gives Mages Guild passives so I like it front bar, which means 3 grave Lord skills and needing more crit from sets like Mother’s Sorrow. Sorrow also has exaggerated performance on a dummy because of the 100% uptime on Major Force.

Either set works I guess. You definitely lose some cleave in trials with Spell Strat (about 6% lower splash damage), but with Sorrow you would typically use Infused instead of Precise so that is also a loss of cleave (about 4-5%). For the most cleave you would do Precise with Sorrow, but that synergizes poorly with Necro passives since it ends up over 100% crit in execute.

It's a colloquial phrase referring to veteran trials and harder content. Just means the hardest pve content.

I do this too for magcro and get good numbers, but it's definitely not one of my main trials characters.
