Now what wasn't expected is I was at 6110 for each hit of sweeps and I had 61 in ele expert 71 in elf born and 67 in master at arm's. So I pulled some points from staff expert and thaurmawhatever to get the following: 75 master at arm's, 49 ele expert, and 75 in elfborn and that brought me up to 6553 each hit of sweeps. I'm playing around with it until I reach optimal performance. Also when I first started this hit and miss endeavor I had just 10 in spell erosion as per the alcast pve build but he doesn't spam sweeps so i made an executive decision to play with the points till I see progress and putting 35 in spell erosion a while back helped out a lot.

- 21mil Iron Atronach target dummy
If you’re not doing one of these 2 things then yes you’ll want more points in Spell Erosion. A pretty good starting point for CP’s is to try to hit 56 with all the major ones, after this diminishing returns become more significant. Something like:
- 56 Elemental Expert
- 56 Elfborn
- 56 Master at Arms
- 56 Thaumaturge
- 46 Spell Erosion
Then do a few parses and you can shift points around as needed, maybe freeing up some Spell Erosion depending on what debuffs you have access to. Pay attention to direct damage (light attacks, purifying, sweeps, Burning Light, etc.) vs damage over time (Blazing Spear, Wall, Ritual of Retribution, Burning, Radiant Oppression, etc.) and adjust the ratio of Thaum vs Master accordingly. If they are pretty even then consider adding any extra points into Ele Expert to get to 64. There’s also a nice boost if you can get to 75 in Thaumaturge since you’ll do 10% more damage to off-balance enemies with the exploiter passive.
I would not put any points in Staff Expert on a Templar because you have easy access to empower from Barrage (which is additive, not multiplicative) and fewer Light Attacks than other classes with Sweeps and beams.
