So are the alleged performance fixes real? Have we seen any positive results at all from the performance fixes outside of PvE?

You should see PC eu. It is by far worse - skill delay is common and is around 2-5 seconds, channel skills lock mid animation and bar swapping has become a myth nowadays.

that isn't that much worse than PC NA right now

I've become convinced that they aren't really addressing PvP performance issues. Rather, they are divesting in server capacity and focusing on bringing in money from new PvE players. They did the math, and PvP doesn't put money in their banks, so they don't care.

As much as it pains me to say this, it really does feel like the pvp community is ignored way too often. Look at the changes to light attacks and heavy attacks - within 2 weeks of people moaning, they were put on the back burner. This also happened with shield changes and iceheart changes - pve players moan and changes are made it seems whereas pvp players seem like the forgotten cousin.

The PvP players have already put about as much money into the game as they are going to. They had to in order to get to end game PvP. So ZOS can't get much more money out of them. Hence, they are not making the investments into server capacity that they need to make PvP work. They are focusing on revenue from new PvE players.

It's too bad because ESO PvP was the best I've ever played, but no more. Unless they change their focus, those of us that PvP are going to have to find another game.

The only solution is not to play.

I haven't played for 2 days because PvP Performance is so bad. Not sure I will play any more. Seems to me it is just a waste of time. I would rather go outside and watch flowers grow.

Outside!?!?!? That's a real place?? Jokes aside, I do feel your pain. I make videos and content for YouTube mainly on pvp and just feel that a massive barrier to making videos is actual performance. It's at the point where I am considering making videos for other games which is sad.

I was trying to play in the main Cyrodiil campaign today in about this time frame. With no faction population locked, ping was 200-220 in an empty keep alone. When more than 20 people were in the same area, the game became uplayable.

I stress, this was during off hours, and with no population being locked.

It's like that for some people pc NA but I think it's mostly Canadians =[ I have counted a full 20 seconds of pressing a spell that would not cast

It happened again today. How is performance this bad during times when faction populations aren't even full?

Also, the lag meter provided with the game is very clearly not displaying the actual ping. We will have to use a third party program to determine what our ping actually is.

Cyrodiil has unplayable lag all day long in all time zones.

I can't even be bothered to go there these days.

I have heard that from many people, that's why I'm confused that it still happens when I make a concerted effort to play at low population times. But as you pointed out, it doesn't really seem to make much difference. Until they fix things, it's going to be bad even when there are low populations, because people still stack for the fight, and that brings more than 15 people to the same location on the map, and then nothing works right.

yeah you can not sell cyrodill for 40$ every year, money is in casual pve players who buy skyrim/greymoor on day one, that is why the content update for this game is all about pve content( chapter, 4 dungeon, zone dlc) we might get small pvp content in the future but ZOS is officially told you for past 2 years specially that this is PVE game and pvp is something extra and not main focus, as simple as that.

Ya, again today the ping did seem very slightly improved. But it seemed like it was likely due to a slightly lower population today, not that anything had changed. As soon as more than 20 players would be in the same location at the same time, ping spikes and the game gets incredibly frustrating to try and play. Nothing works as it's supposed to as soon as there is an actual fight. PvE seems to run wonderfully, there is good content and a really good story line. But what the heck is going on with PvP in this game? At 6am on a weekday there is game breaking lag. Something is not right here.

TBF, saying it's only unplayable during those times is generous.

I've had problems with skills not being able to fire, not just a channel like jabs or wrecking blow, but DK whip, even at off peak times.

And god help you if you get feared, because that requires about four stun breaks in a row to try to get out of and even then you usually are rooted.

    Only 5-8am? LOL

Cyrodiil is unplayable 24/7 and the fact that you addicts keep going back to a zone that doesn't work is puzzling to say the least.

It actually wasn't so terribly bad today, at least not at first. But I think it was just due to lower populations.

Holy cow! Today was the worst day in Cyro I've seen since I started playing. I got my first disconnect after less than 2 minutes of playing. The lag is INSANE! Nothing works in Cyro!

How is there no maintenance on Monday with this level of dysfunction?

And this is the Ironic thing.
When i left SWTOR and WOW i said i would never PvP again but Cyrodiil is another animal, its fun as hell and you have so many different options to play your pvp in there.
If they fixed the lag and issues i bet they could get a damn sight more folks actually interested in it.

I spoke too soon. Today was the worst day I've seen in Cyrodiil since I began playing. And there is a new issue as well; significant and frequent roll-backs. I'm not talking about the fun kind at Walmart either. These roll-backs will bounce you from one side of the keep to another and move you from the middle of a zerg to all alone 100's of in game meters away from the fight. What is going on here?
