Requesting Character Load

So background info:

I downloaded the game from steam while there was a free trial. Ended up liking the game, purchased it. Ran alright for a few hours. Went to sleep, woke up and couldn't get past the character screen. This was two days ago. I sent a support ticket. No answer. Searched the net for answers, tried repairing the game....antivirus/firewall isn't blocking anything. My PC is well above the minimum specs Nothing seems to work. Just freezes at "Requesting Character Load".

Really disheartening and feels like I wasted my money purchasing a game that worked for less than 24 hours.
If anyone has a possible solution to this problem, it would be much appreciated.

First thoughts, do you have any addons? Were any of these characters parked in Vivec City or Cyrodiil?

European Server?

I have been logging 18 Alts each day during the event and only one time did i disco from the game.

Zero add-ons. Just bought the game. My character is parked in Monastery of Serene Harmony. I also created another character to see if it would work and it didn't. That one is Northern Elsweyr. I am NA server.

Still hasn't been solved. I decided to test the EU server.I can create and load a character in the EU server, but not my main char in the NA server. What does this mean?

Running the game and launcher as an administrator can also help with character loading issues.

Run launcher and game as an administrator

1. Right-click on the game Launcher and select Properties.
2. Navigate to the Compatibility tab.
3. Check the box that says Run as Administrator.
4. Click Apply and then OK.
5. Repeat these steps for ESO.exe, located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\Game\Client (by default).

Assuming it is still not yet fixed, did you try going into Documents>Elder Scrolls Online>Live and then delete ShaderCache.cooked? Some times that file has issues and removing it will let you properly log in. The file in question will be remade upon launching the game so it should not cause issues.

THANK YOU. I did both of those for good measure. and it loaded. I'd pretty much had given up actually and was cleaning up my browser tabs and i thought i'd refresh one last time. Glad i did. Again, thanks.
