[POLL] Which class is the most powerful in Battlegrounds?

Ever since we were forced to queue alone for Battlegrounds I began to notice specific builds/classes doing a LOT, LOT, better than others.. To the point where if a team has more of (X) build/class they just win. I'd like to know if others are also experiencing a similar issue. Please reply with your opinions, specifically which build, ie, stamina/magicka is doing the best etc.

Sorcerer's or as they are otherwise known "the kill stealing ***!!!"

Sorcs have insane survivability and kill-stealing ability.

However Wardens have a stronger burst, and a ton of group buffs. Having a Warden on your team helps everyone. Having a sorc just gets undeserved kills.

Pretty much the comment right here. MagSorcs have it very easy to line up high burst windows. Curse, pre apply execute, and throw your insta frags. If somebody hits execute range it's just over and in no-CP they usually do.

Wardens are overall the most complete and OP because they have the same qualities as magsorc but ALSO pretty much ensure a BG win by themselves with their team help. (magsorcs if they slotted negate and used it correctly could help too but hey its all about the kills isnt it?)

Really too broad of a question since there’s multiple modes, of course sorcs are top dogs for deathmatch in terms of kill stealing but overall it’s debatable.

The higher you get you start to see players with builds that cover multiple areas regardless of class.

I’m not voting because it really depends on the player my stamblade slaughters in bgs if I’m playing against less experience players my kills average 20 to 30 if I’m playing against good players my kills average 10 15 it also depends on teams. I have seen good players I know on my platform destroy on stam dk magplar stam warden mag sorcs etc.

I say mag sorc because being ranged just let melee teammates suck up damage, and having execute is good for steal kills.

It’s usually more about group comp and whether your group is able to mesh with each other well. Magsorcs will dominate if the other two groups are brawlers or the brain dead stam type who just flings themselves at the other teams.

A group of 4 magsorcs without a healer (or magsorcs plus bowtards) will get destroyed if you spawn camp them. You can’t just let them kill steal at will and need to pressure them, plus have a group who’s willing to pressure them too.

Usually a group of magsorcs will dominate if they’re fighting people with poor strategy, so should be winning really. Poor strategy = poor play.

@Iskiab is right.

From my perspective (dk) I like to use my abilities to set up someone else's burst. I can usually take more than the sorcs can, and hopefully free them up to do their thing.

I just wish it were easier to get everyone on the same page faster. It's hard when everyone is solo queue.

This pool is going to get skewed because different classes have different advantages depending on MMR. Magden is extremely powerful on high MMR since they provide a lot of utility and off heals.

Magsorc stomps without much effort in low MMR because the enemies still don't know how to defend themselves properly and don't play as a team.

Warden, by a pretty wide margin. They can get kills in the window of 1-2 GCD, tons of PBAoE, all the buffs, and stupidly strong heals.

It varies depending on the group composition and what everyone is running. My last match about ten minutes ago was a complete and total mess. Nobody had any good builds and one team mate was complaining about "How they should have picked a class that didn't have to bar swap".

My MagDK running New Moon Acolyte, Shadowrend, and Julianos completely dominated the match with a few exceptions when I bit off more than I could chew. Some people might say the DK is OP because of what I just did but it had to do with player skill and their builds.

Overall I suck at battlegrounds. I’m way too squishy and keep getting my kills stolen. Wear down 2-3 guys almost every time and get credit for nothing. Only thing I’m good at seems to be revenge kills because in every PvP game ever made, campers are gonna camp so I’ll go half way around the map in the other direction just to pop up behind you and hit you with a burst. They all run but the DoT still kills them before they get too far. Can’t steal my kills when you are dead!

For a crappy player like myself it's so hard to tell With the reset of MMR, some BGs I do really well & think 'this stam dk is pretty good!' then other BGs I get smashed & start thinking I should use my mSorc or sDen

I won't name names but I've seen some absolutely unreal play by MagCros in Death Match. My general impression of MagCro is that has the highest ceiling, but also the highest floor. By that I mean it's capable of the best offensive output and possibly best personal defense, but that it's hard to even be functional with it. I could be wrong about that.

Anyhow, there are much different considerations for which classes are strongest in Objectives vs Death Match. A good number of players don't at all care about the Objectives, regrettably, so I suppose that's beyond the scope of this thread.

Warden are the best by far. A warden/dizzy swing is the reason I play heavy armor now

Yeah I saw somebody go like 20-0-20 in a Death Match, my D-Swings weren't hitting them for anything whatsoever, and they could delete me with Colossus and Graveyard in an instant. I honestly hadn't seen those skills hit so hard unless they were cast by an Emp, so whatever they were doing was extremely powerful, but probably hard to pull off, since it's so rare.

I used the random battleground daily and xp scrolls to level a bunch of toons...

there are other games where different builds can play a big factor...

capture the flag, nightblades help...chaos ball - tanks...

without streak you usually end up needing a bunch of stamina in pretty much anything other than deathmatch...lots of running around, particularly if you get stuck on the map in the clouds with the thousand portals everywhere...run run run...

for deathmatch mages wrath or a bow usually works out well for me...

You need a clear distinction at Sorcerer. Stamsorc is not even close as good as Magsorc, but Templar are both insanely strong.
