ZOS Not Responsive Enough?

I'm eager to hear your thoughts; do you too long for a more responsive and personal forum team, who are interactive with their community?

I gave up ZOS games due to poor customer support and forums censorship.

Unfortunately, Zos censors stuff because people here bicker and insult each other.

This forum should benefit the game. That's what it's here for. Childish behaviour has reduced the benefit of it.

Unless certain people here start to behave in a mature manner, Zos will likely either bring the ban hammer, or shut the forum completely; that would be a great shame.

Their job is to remain as neutral as humanly possible and make sure the rules for behavior in this place is kept.
In short, they're supposed to be impersonal. It's their damn job.
    Hahahahahhhh...
Well, I had no issues with it as long a they were doing it that way. But... well... sometimes it sure seems like they are not "neutral". I mean, when they censor a -quoted- downputting remark, but NOT the original downputting remark... it seems they side with the bullies and not the ones merely reacting, huh?

But eh, since that just happened to me, I may be a bit biased at the moment... and perhaps they will take notice and fix the issue that caused by current vexation. And if not... eh. Everyone makes mistakes, I will just have to swallow the vexation and move on I suppose.

For my part, I went back to DC Universe Online and what a pleasure to find a stable, coherent and above all playable online game properly, well certainly, the world aspect is not quite the same, although the main lines are there, the only negative point I could find in this one would be the freedom of classes/power or all powers can be DPS, but the secondary roles are assigned to a certain power, for example the earth power will be either dps or tank, the celestial power will be either dps or heal, the only thing I could miss from TESO and to get back to this one, concerning myself, I stopped my subscription to TESO and I think I'll spend a little less time on it!

And now after this decision I'm starting to understand why so many of the alumni have given up on TESO.

    I want my freedom speech

    It looks likes China sometimes...

I hate to tell you, but freedom of speech in no way applies to a private company's private forums.

Mmmmmnnnnnnn I believe you are correct in this regard. Legally, this is not a public forum, in the same sense that a library, town hall, etc etc are. 'Private forum' isn't the right word, there's a specific legal term to it, but I cannot recall the name. Basically, ZoS has the full right to censor speech, and moderate conversations as they see fit; they control the content that is released. Now, on sites like youtube and facebook? That's where it becomes iffy, because it's the users that control the released content... and are, technically, public forums, despite company ownership.

There's actually quite a few law suits running at present, in regards to certain shady practices those aforementioned sites are engaged in, going over whether or not those sites have the legal right or authority to censor, publicly or discretely, content that gets posted on those sites unless they are outright in violation of state or federal laws. Here in this forum though, ZoS has full-on censoring and moderation rights. Something that may be annoying to some, but I respect the rule of law in this regard. If ZoS wants to be china with their property, well they can darn well be china if they please. All we can do is complain and hope someone is listening.

It doesn't have anything to do with "wanting to be China" though. Nobody's going to be showing up at anyone's door to disappear them if they say something "dicey". The forums are supposed to be a place where players can get together to discuss the game, and if some posters are making that experience poor through what they have to say, they can be removed. If we were in a bar, and a customer is being unruly, they can be removed in the same way, I used to do that very thing for a living. At one point, I was also a moderator on an MMO forum. Posts that are disruptive are removed, because it creates a non-friendly atmosphere for other people that may just want to participate in the dialog. We're free to post whatever we want, but the ToS states that "offensive" stuff can be removed, and that we can be removed for any reason, including being banned, and we all agree to it when we're making our accounts.

Yeah and if that bar has a roach infestation and the bartender is keeps spitting in the drinks, then it's not "unruly" to be vocal with complaining. It also would actually get the business shut down if a bar treated their customers that way. Unfortunately the gaming industry gets buy on a lack of legislation against crap like this.

If you're truly that unhappy, nobody is standing behind you with a shotgun forcing you to play. There are a lot of games out there. I've dedicated years, and lots of cash to games that I no longer play. When I have issues, I post them, in as constructive a manner as possible. Being unruly isn't the answer. It will just get posts either edited to incoherence, assuming any coherence to begin with, or removed. Neither of which does anything to push a complaint to the top of the pile.

Greetings everyone! We've removed a few posts from this thread given their non-constructive nature.

While we completely understand everyone has their own opinions, thoughts, feelings and even frustrations, we want the forums to be a civil and constructive platform for the game and it's community as a whole.

The most frustrating part about it is the Zenimax icon showing up next to the thread and you open it hoping for some kind of useful reply but it's just another "We removed some posts, please stay civil" response. This thread being a great example for that.
They should get rid of the Zenimax icon for moderation related replies on threads.

The "Z" in front of the thread is mainly the Popcorn Indicator. It shows that a thread has reached the point where people are starting to act like *** and the forum mods have to earn their paychecks.

If you want to know when a developer or Community Manager makes a statement or response, it is best to follow the Dev Tracker. They will flag their comments and they will show up there. If they do not forget, like @ZOS_JessicaFolsom did with the Ambassador comment she made yesterday.

I agree that the two should be swapped. No indicator for moderation. Indicator when a real dev or CM comment is made.

My latest ticket related to an event issue. Their reply did not get to me until today. My issue will have to wait until the next event to be resolved. I am entirely OK with that. These are troubled and turbulent time. We are all trying to make our way through a coal mine at midnight with no flashlight. Our lives will run much smoother if we cut ourselves and everyone else some slack.

Trust me, I have quit sinking money into a company that very clearly has zero respect for its playerbase. I pop back here every week or so to see if anything's been improved. Lo and behold, it's still unplayable for anything more serious than casual questing, and ZOS still has no actual response as to how, or even if they plan on fixing it.

What's almost worse, is people still happily throwing money at an company that neither cares about the game state nor cares enough about it's players to set aside their penny-pinching plans with overpriced cosmetic bs and "convenience, totally not at all P2W" features, and those people do so while knowing full well how they're being treated. No one who's stepped foot into any part of PvP or any endgame PvE could honestly claim ignorance of these issues that persist for months and even years.

They get feedback an update breaks parts of the game, they ignore feedback, they break the game, and now they've let it stay broken to a state of unplayability for months now, on top of pushing the update they knew for weeks was broken to consoles without any adjustments to those huge gamebreaking issues
