Guardian’s Savagery (bear ultimate) question

I’ve been searching for hours regarding this answer. When you already have the bear active and you use the bears secondary ultimate skill does the amount of banked ultimate points increase the damage when you use the skill?

Whether I have 75 or it’s called at 500 all of the points are spent. I would assume it would scale up but I am not so sure. Also if the secondary skill costs 75 ultimate why would it drain all 500 and do the same damage. Theoretically if it doesn’t do more damage I should be able to use it 6 times no?

Anyhow, if someone could shed some light on this it would really help.

Thanks, so when fighting bosses it’s best to hit the skill once it’s ready instead of banking it.

Any reason why it spends the full bank to activate that skill rather than the 75 points the skill costs?

Always has for all ultimate abilities. It’s be OP if otherwise with everybody taking 500 ulti into a fight.

It consumes the whole amount because you aren't supposed to be able to save up and then spam strong ultimates repeatedly. It lets you build more than 75 at a time because the various ultimates have different costs.

Also, sorcerers have an ultimate ability that works as a toggle so they start with a larger pool. There is also a monster set that applies buffs based on the amount of ultimate consumed.

    I'd like to add...

Whether you have 75 or 500 ultimate points, you can use the Balorgh Monster Set from the Wolfhunter DLC (March of Sacrifices) and Urgalarg Chief-bane's undaunted chest.

    Set bonus
(1 item) Adds 129 Weapon Damage, Adds 129 Spell Damage
(2 items) When you use an Ultimate ability, you gain Weapon Damage and Spell Damage for 10 seconds equal to twice the amount of total Ultimate consumed.

Balorgh will then make your bear ultimate deal extra damage in proportion to the amount of total ultimate accumulated (above the cost). It's not specific (or limited) to the bear, but it will serve that functionality; hence, dealing more damage at more cost. (Plus, all else that happens after in 10 seconds.)

    Examples:
    • 075 ULT = 150 weapon/spell damage [minimum].
    • 100 ULT = 200 weapon/spell damage.
    • 200 ULT = 400 weapon/spell damage.
    • 500 ULT = 1000 weapon/spell damage [maximum].
