Bug: Can't use any skill

Hi,
Lately i've been experiencing this bug, can't use any skill at all, it happens both in PvP and PvE, how am i supposed to play if i can't cast anything until i relog?
Gameplay it is literally ruined by this, and it's not even a lag-related bug, it just happens randomly.

I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one experiencing this as a couple friends told me it happened to them as well. I hope ZOS is aware of this issue.

Yes, I have had the same again and again. Either I need to relaod the UI or the game does this for me by completely logging me out (and then telling me that the account is already logged in). I haven't tried any PvP recently, but it can happen even during crafting or while merely looking for crafting nodes in Clockwork City.

Happens to me as well sometimes, doing a dodgerole solved it for me most of the time.

Well, even if there is a temporary fix (and i appreciate your help if this will eventually work for me) it think it's unacceptable that we have to find a workaround for every single issue (like the 0 stam regen bug).

Yup, I have had issues with interaction for a few weeks now which roll solves. I also get another bug now, normally when mounted, run through a bunch of mobs and jump to kill them and find I can't use any abilities.. Same thing fixes

I think it is not a bug but a new feature. You have to push a button 5 times to activate the skill and then top it off with lag.

This seems to happen when you cast an ability at the exact time an opponent dies, yet before you are allowed to animation cancel the skill. Meaning the game does not allow the skill to stop, but it can't hit anything either. This is not a lag related bug. This bug also makes it so you cannot loot or target anything.

What some others are talking about is simply lag, and skills not going off. This is unrelated to this bug.

For me its usually because an AOE ability went haywire and won't let me retarget thinking my target is friendly or already in the process of being targeted.

When they grey out and won't work at all, if you roll dodge it normally fixes this!

Same. Happened today. The hamsters are dying again, the event is killing them.

yep happens to me daily. the other day was the longest--i was in a wrothgar delve and had to run away from an enemy because i couldn't attack him. my toon kept doing the start of the animation but then would stop before actually hitting the enemy.

Probably related to the same bug but sometimes you can't even crouch or put away your weapon without reloading the game.

Sounds like the old sprint bug where you get stuck in sprint mode and therefore no skills are available. Happened to me a few times a couple nights ago while tanking vSS.

A lot of weird stuff going on right now with performance, probably due to server load with people being home and the event going on.

Agreed. Having an event and twitch drops was avoidable during this quarantine, however most of bugs and latency issue were here before COVID-19, and server overload worsened the situation even more.
Also they're working from home, which put them in an horrible position with all the stuff going on.

It's been an ongoing issue for the last 6 or 7 weeks. It's pretty clear at this point that ZOS has no intention of addressing it, so get used to it. Or you can do what many other are doing and choose to spend your time and money elsewhere.

This has happened to me on at least six different characters over the past two weeks, including just today on my main after being chained by a daedric hag in CWC. I find that if I roll dodge once, my character will twitch but not actually perform the dodge. Then I have to do it again to get it to reset.

It’s very annoying, but at least it’s a workaround (for me) until they can fix this issue. It only started for me after Update 25 and has been very frustrating. I can’t imagine having to reloadui or relog every time.

This isn't any actual bug at all, it's called feature and therefore there's simply no need to look into this or fix anything, just works!

Ran vSS a couple of times on the weekend with different groups. Both times had healers who skills would go off (we saw the animations as i was one of the ice runners), but their heals wouldnt effect our health bars even though we could see the animations. Hell one of them spammed breath of life 4 to 5 times and still wouldnt effect the intended target or anyone else for that matter.

I Understand theres a lot more people on than normal, but it just goes to show how ridiculously broken the game is.

Died few times in Cyrodiil because of this. Once in a 1v1 I couldn't do anything even dodge roll, my bars was grayed out and all I could do was bash attack.

This happens about every other dungeon to me.

I honestly have no idea how game-breaking bugs like this make it to Live.

This just happened to me. How is it that basic things STILL aren't fixed in this game. Like really...WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON. The game has been in development status since launch. It's frustrating that you continue to ignore virtually basic bugs, but somehow find the time to update the crown store every other five seconds.

sometimes the server forgets you released shift, probably you started casting something while sprinting

whenever this happened, always fixed by either sprinting again, dodge rolling, blocking, swapping weapon, etc.

I encountered this bug too, in Cyrodiil, PCNA.

I was inside the inner door of a keep after cleaning attackers. I suddenly found that all skills couldn't be used, I tried tobuse the command "/reloadui" and teleported to a keep which had no fight going on.

I still couldn't use any skills, couldn't even light attack. The mouse and keyboard still worked well.

Finally I had to log out and login again to fix it.

I got this, speed running a friend through skyreach. I had to close client and reopen before it would work again.

Its all a bit weird at the moment, even if ping is lowish (relatively) you still get the symptoms of high latency/desync.

For the first time since I first experienced it in April, yesterday I was unable to fix this bug without relogging. Dodge roll would not even work, and /reloadui failed to do an good. This happened in nCR, and I was not the only one affected in that run, so it seems that it's not completely random. Some instances seem more prone to bugging you out.

No problem with skill but has to spam potion button and LA to make them work...
And time to time my char do auto-HA instead of 1 LA like asked, wtf ?

Also any plan to fix the fact than the more people die in a raid/DG the more bug happen during the fight ? It happen since years and somehow still not fixed..
Would be nice to do content w/o the fear to have to reset the whole thing to make it work..

This comes along every now and then, and I find if I go into inventory and swap weapons it fixes it. It's not happened for a while then yesterday it started doing it again.

Anyone thinking they will reinvest money into this game beyond the bare minimum has thier head deep into the sand. Far past time for hope, time for players to start dealing with reality. 🤷‍♂️
