Performance updates

Ever since the performance updates have started, the performance of the game has gotten exponentially worse especially in trials and cyrodiil. Just wondering if there will ever be communication from the dev team or is this what we have to look forward to with these updates.

Yea I just came back after a long hiatus. At least I have new content to see but I won't be sticking around once done.

This game is great in so many ways but it has to be able to function at a core level. Performance issues were crippling when I took a break BECAUSE of performance issues over a year ago. Somehow I comeback to numerous major "performance improvements" to see they made it worse. That's honestly hot garbage. It's pretty disappointing and I am sure there are some passionate people on the developer staff but how you can you be happy with your work when your "improvements" make everything worse?

Just been in there. It's not good that's for sure. But they gave us a Year Long Plan for improvements and they still have 9 months left.

All anyone can do at the minute is keep calm and take them at their word.

Maybe it's a case of that old saying "It'll get worse before it gets better."

We'll just have to be patient and wait and see.

Imagine how bad this will be in a year? all they do is making thing worse. not one thing has been improved, and 1000 things have gotten worse. so just wait your year and see how bad this will be...

Only way they can get this better is to get new staff to work on this, someone who know what to do....
Still a grudge, only to see false what u want and nothing less.

have you ever seen a communication? i saw it once a year ago i guess. some zos_guy posted a letter after event witch they closed because of broken grouping tool. he said that they are working hard and everything will be fine so everything is fine now by zos standards. i doubt you want more improvements. enjoy the game while you are able to do quests at least.

I don't know what exactly are the underlying causes of the current performance problems. I also don't know who exactly to blame for that, what has to be done to fix it, how difficult it is to do that, or if and when it will happen.

But, I am unfortunately very sure, that if things will not get better significantly soon, that this time, for real, this will have a huge impact on the endgame community as it is now. It is effectively not possible to raid. At all. Since weeks. (I am not a regular guest in Cyrodiil, but from what I hear, and from the little I've seen, things are not looking good there either.) I am organizing two endgame PvE groups, and I am participating in several more. By now, most of these groups are at least partially or even completely canceled for the time being. Motivation is close to an all-time low, but so far at least, everybody is still hanging around in the hope that things will improve again. But this hope is fading. And currently there really is no light at the end of the tunnel, at all. Because at the moment it is just getting worse every week. (If any of the devs is reading this, then please note: This is not frustration speaking out of me here. Even though I am frustrated. You really have to understand that things are getting worse since weeks. In all the years that I am playing this game, things have never been as bad as they are now. What is happening at the moment has long past being merely annoying - it is a serious problem.)

There are always some people that are fast to complain, or that claim to sympathize with switching to another game even though they don't really plan to, etc. I know, and I am sure we all have heard and seen enough of these comments in order to normally not take such things to serious. But I have to say, that after listening to a lot of people in recent days, and experiencing myself over and over again how objectively bad each single trial is working at the moment on each single day for every single person - this is the first time that I really start to worry that we will loose several of the players that are with us since many years. I don't know how representative it is in the end, but at least from what I can see, the mood is really changing at the moment. People are starting to be fed up with this situation. And I really hope that, some of the moderators, some of the devs, or some of anyone else having influence on how this game is managed, is understanding that - at least for this very small and sheltered part of the world that this game is consitituting - the situation is serious this time. And I have to agree with the first post in this thread: I think this has to be acknowledged, by some people in charge, in a far greater and more public way than it has so far. I am not saying that you are not trying, but unfortunately, in comparison to the sheer size ot the current problems, the amount of communication falls far short from what it would have to be. Speaking at least for the people in my groups, that I can more or less claim to represent with a good conscience: We need more acknowledgement of these problems, so that we can hope again that things will get better. For there are not many people left that are seriously believing that at the moment.

As players who actually care about this game and the popularity of it we deserve an official response on what is actually being done. The responses we have gotten so far is that you have been doing performance patches so far, but they have actually made the game perform worse for people who either do endgame vet trials or PvP in cyrodiil.

There has been no response for the status of what these performance updates have done to the game and it's very worry some what the next updates will do considering the effect that these ones have had. I know it's hard to deal with negativity all day and what seems like more and more of it but as customers we really deserve some sort of response, and communication would really help the majority of people come to terms with what the team is dealing with.
