Any ideas how to unlock the game from 60fps?

Few things first: I have already changed everything Alcast had listed on his page to eliminate the fps lock and other improvements. Second, I have two computers with pretty similar specs and the one computer goes above 60fps all the time(above 200 at times), whereas the other won't go above 61 fps. Computer 1: I5, 16ram, ssd, 1060 card....Computer 2: I7, 16ram, ssd, rx580 card (this is the one that won't go above 60fps). So basically very similar systems, but no matter what I change in graphics etc, the second computer is like locked at 60fps max. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks.

i mean you can lock the fps in the ini file when you go to documents you can alter the fps limit there....maybe you changed it there?

it could also be locked in the settings for your graphics card but id check the ini first

no idea what team reds is called but on green NvPanel can override game settings like vsync, would check there first ...

is Vertical Sync on? If your monitor is 60hz with V-Sync on, your game wont exceed 60 fps, to match with your monitor refresh rate. Other than that I wouldnt see what else would cause that specific issue

Well, for starters understand that eso is not inherently frame locked on pc.

So as to the technical question. You have ommitted a very important element to your pc specs, the monitor. The first assumption I would make is to check the refresh rate on the monitor in question for the system running at 61fps. If both are on the same monitor and one system is well above 60fps, then my next check would be to make sure there is no vsync enabled on the 60fps system. Outside of that, again if they are both on the same monitor, check the connection ports, some displays have hard caps on refresh rate depending on the connection port used be it hdmi, display port, dvi or dual dvi etc. Then lastly simply check the ati control panel to make sure the refresh rate is hard set.

Now this is assuming you are viewing your refresh rate via an outside application, if you are view the fps counter within eso through its fps display option, and that is not exceeding 60fps, then it us likely a vsync issue

thank you so much for the info...I have a feeling that it may be a vsync issue as the lower fps computer is on an older hannspree tv/monitor. Is there a way to check if it is on vsync? It is a 60 refresh but doesn't say anywhere (I can see) that its vsync. Thank you very much for the feedback, I really appreciate it.

You can check via the ati desktop settings app to see if vsync is forced on or you can check the eso client itself and make sure vsync isnt enabled in game. However, I dont mean to assume, but in case you may not be aware, if the display is an older tv/monitor there is a good chance its refresh rate is 60hz at which point there is no reason whatsoever that you would need the game (or any game really) to run beyond 60fps.

I use a BENQ photo monitor that is colour balanced for photo editing (bought 2019) and it is locked to a refresh rate of 60hz, it is not just old monitors that have a restriction.

No one suggested otherwise.

Most old monitors are 60hz
Not all 60hz monitors are old.

If in doubt, plz provide the Model of your monitor(s). You can look up it's refresh rate yourself ofc too.

I know most people don't like the question, but why do you want more than 60 fps on a 60Hz monitor?

Turn off vsync. and if you want over 100fps after that point you can uncap it in usersettings.ini

well overage is nice as leaves some room raids/busy places in game without it dropping to 30 for vsync users.
and if over enough could always use DSR to make it look bit better

Sorry, it's not really necessary to bring this back up but wondered were you guys talking about in game vsync or out of game with the card software? Because my *** was trying to change the card settings and didn't even realize there was a vsync setting in the game. Once I turned that off no issues. Which now I'm assuming you were telling me. Again thanks for the help.

Know this is a little old, but can you point me to where the setting is in-game to set vsync?
