CPU 100% after logging in

After pressing play on the launcher and logging in with account details, CPU spikes to 100%. my system does not like this as temps reaches 80+, freezing the pc.

I don't have any issues like this with anything else.

Forgot to add that i haven't played in quite awhile so im not sure what would cause this. The game was running fine when Elsweyr was released

It has never happened before with this game, i quit a bit after Elsweyr was released and i installed again on April 2 or so and that's where it started basically.

I thought it was normal to run a single core near 100%, the game is single core architecture and can reach 100% load even on a 4.5ghz processor.

Clean the dust with air. Put new thermal paste on your processor and turn off hyperthreading in the bios.
The character login will spike your system resources and cause it to crash after about 40s if you use any kind of overclock or flip between characters too much. Once you bypass the character screen the system will stabilize.

It is concerning you are reaching 100% load and having 80'C temperature crashes, there's a significant chance I feel this is a problem with your hardware cooling. Something is causing your hardware to overheat (either dust or poor air flow or too much or no thermal paste, or your voltages are set way too high on an overclock).
