New vampire changes look cool and all, but...

Are you people EVER going to fix body and facial markings looking like complete garbage on vamps?

You mean, by being a vampire stage 'X'. Your character gradually becomes ugly. So, to remedy this, is by having a togable skin to return to mortal forum, in terms of looks..

Well, ZOS have considered making a skin function like this but that was ages ago and left to be forgotten.

If ZOS does provide a skin to look in our mortal form then I will pay extra...

Like a toggle. A skill that when active hides your vampiric appearance and disables all vampire passives, but casting any vampire ability or entering combat removes it.

Can't be used in combat or pvp to avoid exploitation.

I literally just want markings to look like they are supposed to on vamps. Not an additional feature.

Define 'supposed to'. Vampires are traditionally ugly AF in TES lore, and even in traditional non-TES lore (apart from Twilight), vampires are inhuman and monstrous requiring great effort to appear mortal. For the vampire changes they've already reversed the in-universe vampirism (feeding makes you more human, not feeding more feral and beast-like, is now the opposite post-greymoor) to be more in line with other lore beyond the elder scrolls.

    What more do you want?

If you want to use that logic, Skyrim didn't nuke tattoos. Pale skin actually made them stand out more.

And that has as much to do with this as the price of sliced bread. What do you mean by 'supposed to'? What are vampires supposed to look like according to you?

I'm not arguing it wouldn't be nice to be able to hide vampirism, but what better way than an inbuilt skill?

I never even said I wanted to hide vampirism. I don't know where you got that from. I just want tattoos to not get washed out.

Yes, would be nice to see tats on vampires. Tattoos are way too faded on a vamp... you nearly don't see them at all, as if they were under the skin instead of on it (and I assume that they - technically speaking - *are* under the skin as vampirism as it is seems to create a radiant/pale skin overlay).
    Perhaps just switch layers, somehow?

Not that I knew how to do it, I never skinned anything after skinning our clan's team for the original, pre-QuakeWorld Team Fortress. Back in the Triassic age.

NO, it doesn't, you're absolutely right. I rephrased it for my own understanding is all. To be honest the amount of moaning about vampires the last few years, 'vampires look like garbage' is all you see in the opening post of a thread like this.

Regardless, a mortal mode / masquerade toggle would still be a solution, would it not? Whilst also achieving the hide vampirism goal of others...

Going that route, a simple skin would be easier(and more likely), but I would still rather markings have proper visibility with vampirism as is.

If I use mind shriven on my vamp, will it override mind shriven or the vamp skin?
