Characters don't load into the zone

Yesterday and today all my attempts to load almost any of my characters have failed. The log-in and characters' screen are working just fine, but when I select any character, it stucks in 'Requesting character load' window. After that, I get the message 'An error has occured. Please wait a few minutes and log in again'.

At the moment, almost all of my characters are in Reaper's March and one in Eastmarch and I wasn't able to load any of them. There is one character in Shadowfen that I was surprisingly able to load a couple of times. I checked the common issues and acted as was recommended (changed the graphic settings to Low), but when I tried to access my Reaper's March and Eastmarch characters it would continue to be stuck in loading them.

There are several causes for this issue. From my experience:

1) Either the server load is too high and you get timed out - I get this issue a lot on EU-PC in the evening. In this case just try to turn off the game completely, wait half an hour then try to connect again.

or

2) One of your addons is causing the issue - I had MM bugged a year or so ago, and I couldn't load my characters and eventually got booted due to database corruption. I disabled MM, purged the database and then logged in again just fine. Check if all your addons are up to date. If they're already updated disable them from the game menu or simply move the folder elsewhere and restart the game and see if it loads.

Thanks a lot for the answer, everything works as usual now, although I didn't do anything, ah well But I'll keep in mind what you recommended in case something similar happens again.

Well if you are on PC/EU then the server did have loading issues the last two evenings (EU time). Character either wouldn't load at all, crashed up loading, if you did manage to get in the zone would take forever to load up properly and ping was through the roof. I'm guessing a combination of extra server load because more people at home playing, event which always means more people playing and the PC/EU server never handled high capacity well, plus the internet in general being burdened with so many people at home using it.
