How to make LA weaving easier and remove animation cancelling

Just make LAs independent of skills? So players who have a hard time weaving can do it much easier without timing. LA should have it's own cooldown and skills their own. I think a magicka Necromancer can cast skills with the left hand and light attack with a staff with the right hand. This way the dps of high end players are unaffected (maybe even improve a bit) and low level players will perform much better. In most mmos basic attacks don't get in the way of skills. This way it won't be called animation cancelling anymore and people will not complain. It will make more sense and will make combat more fluid.

Well, its the way the combat system was designed and well given the amount of people against the idea. Animation canceling isn't going away and Zenimax clearly isn't going to remove it.

There are, however, several drawbacks to this model as well. First, it tends to reward players for pushing buttons as quickly and efficiently as possible. Players with high Actions Per Minute (APM) significantly outperform those with low APM, as they have better up-time of abilities, higher mitigation, much higher DPS, and can simply move around the battlefield better in both PVE and PVP. While we believe it’s good to have a skill gap that promotes mastery, we also believe the gap as it currently exists is too wide, and that many players aren’t finding satisfaction in the climb. Additionally, we believe the over-reliance on a specific mechanic (light attack weaving) leaves less room for playstyle diversity, including lower-APM options. This is particularly evident in veteran content and PvP. Finally, the concept of using light attacks for damage and heavy attacks for restore is, quite simply, unintuitive – especially for less experienced players.

We believe these changes will broaden the usage of Light, Medium and Heavy attacks for all players. In this new dynamic, Heavy attack builds will be more viable, giving low APM players opportunities to compete in both PVE and PVP. High APM play is still rewarded as the absolute highest DPS and requires a mix of both Light and Heavy attacks, interacting with Off-Balance as optimally as possible.
The gist they still want Light Attack weaving to be superior however they don't want it to be the only option. Light Attack weaving is a feature and one that is so integrated with the game players would quit in mass if they removed it. That does not mean they wouldn't do other stuff like reducing the damage of the light attacks themselves and add sustain to them. Like they seem to be wanting to do here. So they are working to make it where you want to have the best dps you would be using both light attack weaving (animation canceling) and medium/Heavy attacks.

So their idea is to have a fast paced combat being the best option while having a more viable slow paced combat and hoping that players will mix the two. So at this point I think it would be wise to give up the idea that they would ever remove animation canceling. As its clearly not happening.
