Mature Players

Hello,

Don't get me wrong, I love to play with mature players, they have funny stories and nice to do dungeons with them,
but usually performance in like vet dungeons especially hm is not the best.

I thought that we could give advice to them:

So, play other games too. Especially fast tempo fps, maybe battle royale mode (theres now even free one to play), good reflexes are very important in eso too
Study your class, there are guides from Alcast for example, others can say more I myself only use Alcast
Ask your guild mates for advice, nothing to be ashamed of that
Max out all your skill lines, some of them gives "secret" bonuses like increase duration of potion
Try to get good group to vet dungeons, queuing is not the best usually

And this is why I don’t play those things: you’re assumed to have sprouted from the brow of Zeus like Athena. What you are describing is a learning curve, applicable to anyone, not just ‘mature’ people.

I'm in my 50s, played Quake 3 on a competitive level back in the days, my Steam account is full of games of all sorts, I have a flawless conquerer in ESO and cleared all trials at least on veteran and most of them on HM. Thanks for your advice. Now grow up.

What the fresh hell is this?
    Condescending, much?

We "mature" people have been playing video games since before most of you young'uns have been alive.
    We don't need your "advice."

I only take advise from those who have conquered (Don Bluth's) The Dragon's Lair stand up arcade without any death on a single play through.

Some of us with more life behind than ahead of us quite intentionally opt to play for fun rather than spending our time grinding, beating on dummies and watching vids on dungeon mechanics. I'm perfectly happy with the results I achieve and am wise/experienced enough to know where to get help - assuming I want help.

Though age affects people differently, I do better focusing on one game, rather than getting mixed up and lost in multiple games. Fast twitch gaming reflexes can improve with practice, but not beyond what the ravages of aging does to restrict them.

The only advice I would offer to my fellow seniors is the same advice I'd offer to any player - don't group up with randoms/pug for content that clearly exceeds your ability. :)

Sounds like we’ve found the immature player ....

Could probably do with a bit more levelling up in life rather than lecturing us on how to play a game..

I'm sure, having read your wisdom re. mature players, everyone is anxiously awaiting equally helpful guides for other minority groups.

One for men, one for women, one for every letter of the LGBTQ+ community, one for people of different races and nationalities...

    For example:

"Don't get me wrong, I love to play with male players, they have such big feet and nice to do dungeons with them,
    but usually..."

    Or:

"Don't get me wrong, I love to play with female players, they have such pretty hair and nice to do dungeons with them,
    but usually......".

    The possibilities are endless...

Oh boy. Here I was clicking on this thread, pretty much expecting it to be something along the lines of: "Oh, I wish there weren't so many unbearable kiddies in ESO, especially now, where there's no school! Man, I can't take them anymore, why aren't there more mature folks to play with?"

Which would have been assuming and kinda condescending towards the younger gamers as well, but oh well, you see this sort of complaint all the time.

But this? *lol* I really hope this is just some very dumb bait, born from the boredom of the isolation, because that's the only halfway decent excuse I can come up with for this BS.

I ususally hate to play with the typical gamer kids. There is just nothing to talk about with them. Some of them didn't even finish school yet or didn't ever have a serious relationship in their life apart from the one to their moms and dads. It's like talking to someone about the game when they just stepped out of coldharbour, just in real life.

Considering their gaming experience, they usually didn't play on a NES or Sega Mega Drive, they didn't even play CS 1.5/1.6 or Duke Nukem, Unreal Tournament or any classic game, yet think they would be knowledgeable about gaming LOL. They even haven't been to a LAN party in their whole life. When they try to gather information on how to play, they go to YouTube or AlcastHQ or some PvP streamer and try to get the information via breast feeding there. No wonder, as they don't even have a university degree or even still go to school and lack the ability or experience to solve a simple mathematical problem on their own.

So I enjoy to play with mature players much more, as I can actually talk to them about interesting stuff like history, politics, daily life problems, travelling, jobs, their countries etc. rather than "girls", "games" or "memes" or whatever media entertainment dictates as interesting for shallow existences.

That is silly message and have nothing to do with my starting message.

It is a FACT that many more mature players have just started to play, whats wrong with giving them advice. And same time ofc to others too.

As I said, there are exceptions, if you do not need advice, good then!

So you are saying that someone in their 60s who has never played video games in their entire life is going to just up and get elder scrolls online? Because, reading comprehension issues aside, you seem to have completely missed all of us talking about we’ve been playing video games a Long. Darn. Time.

Plus, it’s a FACT that people who don’t read replies to their own thread thoroughly are more likely to get cooties.

Yes, you who have played Long time are not the ones who needs advice, instead you should GIVE them in this post rather than prove how good your playing skill are.

Mods are awake and starting to activate so not sure how long this one will remain open. Think they are starting now with the pts threads. So In Before Lock and Standard Green Text reply to why its closed.

Anyways there are times mature adults can act not mature and that is something that can happen especially in mmos and gaming so just because someone doesn't act mature doesn't mean that they are mature. So just because you think something is a fact doesn't always mean it is. Maybe sometimes but not all the time and well even I know what I say could be wrong even if I post a thread doesn't mean I'm right about what I speculate or think is logical.

I think people like the OP are just now figuring out how many "older" people play this (and other) games. We've always been here, we're just online a lot more now. :)

as an oldie, I appreciate your input. I really do. It was a nice suggestion.

You should know, however, that the oldies have been playing lots of games over a long period of time. We know what we like. We know what we want to try. We know what we will not participate in.

It may be that you have run into a few who were trying things that were 'above their abilities' so to speak. But, in general, we don't keep going over and over into stuff we don't enjoy. We get to read these lists, have a good laugh, and get reminded of games that REALLY had issues. We are at the point where others can not push us into doing things we don't want to do, nor can they stop us from doing things we do want to do. We don't get mad at the naysayers. We just ignore them (not in the literal chat sense - we do enjoy the occasional youngster losing their minds in chat. Its very funny )

So, if you do run into an oldie bringing up the rear in a trial, just shrug and enjoy it. Its not worth the stress created to confront them.

    IMHO

    :#

PS never run a trial and probably never will. its just not what I enjoy.

On a side note here, despite the many flaws in ESO, many of us including myself are really glad we can play it right now. For many seniors and other high risk people, ESO and games like it, are one of the few ways we can safely socialize now.
