DW or 2H?

So I've recently gotten into stam classes, weapon classes, etc. I am planning on a bow on the backbar, but I am still teetering back and forth between 2H and DW. Looking to get some opinions, seems 2H requires more skill slots, and I'd prefer to use class skills if possible... I mean, that's why I'm the class, right? Here's what I'm seeing so far for skills and uses.

2H:
Wrecking Blow - Most powerful weapon class hit(I think) and empower
Stampede - My personal thing that I like for a gap closer
Brawler - AoE attack and damage shield
Reverse Slice - Execute

DW:
Rapid Strikes - Powerful hit(and possible heal for other morph)
Whirling Blades - AoE and Execute

    It all depends on the class and play style you want. Most necros and sorcs run 2H. Most of everything else runs DW. It really doesn't matter though, the damage between DW and 2H has significantly closed over the last few patches. A good way to think about it, classes without a good spammable or execute benefit from 2H. Classes with a decent spammable or execute benefit from DW because of the ability to have two traits and daggers.

    Class Spammable > Wrecking Blow > Flurry (except necro skull)
    Class Execute > Executioner > Whirling Blades

    Unfortunately, Wrecking Blow is going to useless for DPS if the changes to Empower go through.

    Stampede damage is garbage. Don't use it in PvE. I mean it was strong for 1 patch - Scalebreaker, with Maelstrom 2H - but then they nerfed all DoTs to garbage. Wrecking Blow is good only on Stamina Sorcerer since you don't have better spammables. All other classes have a better one. I mean Templar Biting Jabs do probably 50K+ and you don't even have to weave them :dizzy:

    I'm running a DW with a dagger and sword. I've seen a few people using the dagger and an axe and wonder if that is a better combination than what I have?

    Dagger/Axe or 2 Daggers will slightly outperform Sword/Dagger but not by much, the difference is 1-2%.

    Personally myself, i`ve tried both. They are fun and powerful but the DW works better for me as for weaving. 2H seemed a little clunky, I found myself agitated from not being able to weave when I need that extra damage. I`m using a Stamblade, hope this helps.

    they aren't "changes"...its a suggested direction that ZOS might take and are testing, WITH player input. stop the doom and gloom....
