It's the a coven of frosty witches vs. a Coldharbour invasion force as ICEREACH takes on the IMPERIAL CITY PRISON! Will Mother Ciannait put the daedric forces on ice? Or will Lord Warden Dusk lord it over the hags? YOU DECIDE!

A list of the overall action for BOTH the base and DLC competitions can be found HERE, so people can get a quick glance at the overall action.

All fights will go for TWO DAYS and end at 8PM CST (or your timezone equivalent; figure it out) so this one will end on Sunday, March 22nd.

    Love ICP

    Icereach isn’t bad. It has a couple of nice mechanics and a totally bonkers HM, but it’s a blah dungeon, not a fun dungeon. Much more in keeping with the V2 dungeons than the DLC ones. And the whole Lyris thing just doesn’t work at all.

    I didn't think I'd vote for ICP, being one of the first DLC dungeons and thus one of the oldest. But on the one hand ICP can still be fun to run, if a bit too easy, and on the other hand Icereach struck me as the exact opposite of Unhallowed Grave: uninspired and uninteresting. I think it's possibly my least favourite DLC dungeon.

    There isn't a single dungeon that I find too long. But then I don't view them as chores to be finished in 20 mins tops. I actually like killing stuff and not skipping entire groups of trash.

    As an avid Imperial fancier (second only to my Bosmer love) I have to say even their prisons are glorious!

    I really don't care for either of these runs... :'(
    Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
    Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
    Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
    House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
    Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

    I'd say the same about Icereach. Especially those long and pointless walks on the ramparts in the second half, fighting the nearly identical mob pack every time you reach a tower, is just completely unnecessary padding. I don't get that feeling in ICP - even though it is long, the boring repetition isn't nearly as obvious.

    "Uninspired" is a really good word to describe Icereach. There are interesting mechanics, esp. the theme of bosses sabotaging themselves (the giant smashing the atronachs, the fire sister destroying some of the icy stuff), and the story ties in quite nicely with Direfrost and has a very Skyrim-y feel about it. But that's about it. The flesh atronach and the storm boss are comparatively unspectacular, and the end fight is either a complete clusterF, or a bit tedious - damage a witch, interrupt, damage a witch, interrupt, damage a witch, interrupt, damage a witch... and then do the whole thing again before you finally get to the main b... witch. In terms of visuals, there are some nice corners - like in the first half where you murder your way through various living rooms. But all in all, it's nothing to really write home about. Not bad, just ... decent.

    ICP is in a nice intermediary spot, despite (or because) of its age. It's a definite step up from base game dungeons, it's harder than WGT, but not on the level of most later DLC dungeons. While many groups can burn through some of the mechanics these days, many can not, esp. in random groups, and it's a good introduction to the DLC difficulty. Mechanics like the poop-flinging, the portals, the shades, and others are still interesting.
    There's not too many dungeons with the Coldharbour theme (which is a good thing), and ICP is not all too spectacular itself - fitting for a prison complex, though. As it's up against Icereach, that doesn't hurt it too much. They're both comparable in that regard.
    Also, it drops ESO's Lilarcor. I've been using Leeching Plate just because of that shield.

    ICPis my least favorite dungeon in the game. The mechanics are annoying and gross, it’s way way too damn long. Every time it comes up as a pledge or a random I Nope myself right on out.

    If you use the group finder for that, I'm sure your random group is thankful for your wasting their time. I don't think "random" means what you think it means.

    Icereach still does have a bit of 'new dungeon excitement' left for me. I also think that the thoughts behind some of the mechanics aren't bad at all... somehow they just didn't go anywhere. I also personally think they could've done a little more with the story, Drodda referencing and all...

    ICP is just a classic, and while it's losing the battle against powercreep as much as most other dungeons, you can still see they put a lot of creativity and effort into the boss fight. The layout is pretty neat too. Lord Warden remains iconic, and I liked the quest in there a lot.

    The 2nd boss fight, the Flesh Abononation just looking giant and intimidating, and Lord Warden craziness make this dungeon so great. Still in my top 3 in the game

    This was a tough one, but I'll stick with ICP, even though I technically don't like running the dungeon, because it makes me claustrophobic.

    But I see that as good design. The fights are interesting and the quest is cool (it involves my favourite Dremora, after all). And as others have said, Lord Warden is an iconic boss.
