PS4 Internet, Disconnects, Crashes

I know that there are several threads on here already complaining about lag and latency issues but this is in regard to a SEPARATE issue.

ESO continually crashes and disconnects from the internet repeatedly now on the PS4. But the manner in which it does so is entirely unique to the game and is not experienced with other software.

The game forces the entire PS4 system to disconnect from the internet over WiFi. After the game crashes the PS4 no longer detects that the current WiFi network is available and the user is forced to either initiate a “Network Test” to establish a link again or fully restart a console.

Personally, this morning alone in the span of 30 minutes I experienced no less than 10 disconnects, two of which resulted in Blue Screen errors 7 minutes apart.

This has been going on for more than a month now, since before the Harrowstorm update. After the update it has only gotten worse. Please address what this issue is. I’m posting it here as this seems more pronounced than a simple in-game but as it’s causing the game system itself to disconnect its WiFi.

Dude, just shush. You keep saying the same thing, it's not even funny.

@trackdemon5512 After each crash did you log in to your router to check the activity log to see if there are any weird disconnects?

Are you on cable or wifi?

This might be on your side but I might be wrong. Try tethering your phone to the console to see if when you play on the mobile internet you have similar problems.

I’ve checked the router. There are other devices online which have no issues. Furthermore, the disconnects ONLY happen with ESO. No other game experiences this issue which is impossible to miss as a notification comes up every single time the WiFi connection is dropped.

The router itself is strong, one of those Orbi wireless ones. The WiFi signal is also strong being close to the system with an average connection rate of about 80mbps and over 500mbps for a fiber optic connection in the New York metropolitan area.

While tethering directly to the router can be an option the point I wish to make is that whatever ESO is doing is specifically causing the PS4 system to drop WiFi connections completely. That goes beyond just being dropped from the ESO servers as that shouldn’t force the system to drop all WiFi connections to the Playstation Network or other services.

What does the system log on your router say when the connection is dropped? You might need to take that to the manufacturer knowledgebase.
