Or they could just add a flyer to one of the bulletin boards or posts around the towns-- or better yet, at or near the Impresario's tent. The text of the flyer could change depending on which event is in progress or coming up next. Reading the flyer could let you choose whether to take a copy or not, similar to how you can pick up a copy of the player housing flyers.

Like I said earlier, the login screen tells you when there's an event happening. Not everyone uses the launcher but everyone *has* to use the login screen.
