[Magicka Templar] pve and pvp build

EvilSculptor
Hello
By advance, sorry if my english is not the best. Hope you can understand it.

My main character is a high elf. In my main bar i've this stats (in PvE):
https://prnt.sc/rgrp2x

My DPS isn't bad (45-50k), but isn't the best, I feel like I can improve it. Because of the sustain, I use mother sorrow, false god and zaan sets (in back bar i've maelstrom lightining staff)-all gold itens.
CP: https://alcasthq.com/eso-magicka-templar-build-pve/ - use them like in this site
Food: Use a blue food, gives max health and magicka
Boon: The shadow

In front bar I use: radiant oppresion, puncturing sweeps, solar barrage, inner light, breath of life, elemental rage (ulti). When i've a healer in group, I change the breath for elemental weapon
In back bar: unstable walls of elements, reflective light, blazing spear, channeled focus, ritual of retribution, crescent sweep (ulti).

I'm not a pro in rotation, i know that as some influence, but i need some tips about how to increase my dps.

Now the bigger problem, the PvP. I've tryed like five or six different builds, but my char is just too weak, idk what to do. The best results i've got was with bright-throast boast, valkyn skoria and fortified brass (all in light, except 2 itens that are heavy/medium), i do some decent damage and i can survive some time, but i die anyway, mostly because i run out of stamina really really fast. Run a lightining staff in main bar and restoration staff at back bar)
Sometimes in BG I see a player almost without health, i use my execution skills, but i can't kill him, but he kills me.

Skills main bar - radiant oppresion, puncturing sweep, Toppling charge, living dark (people says that this skills is OP, i can't see any difference using it or not), breath of life - crescent sweep (ulti)
Back bar - Purifying light, ritual of retribution, channeled focus, reflective light, degeneration - meteor (ulti)

I'd like to read some opinions about sets, and skills. As i told you, i'm not a pro in rotations, specially in PvP because idk which skills to use. If needed i can provide more info about the character

Thanks a lot in advance,
EvilSculptor

In pvp, People seem to really like new moon acolyte for an offensive armor set. That 5% increase is often not felt as hard in pvp when your trading bursts with an opponent. I wear 2 offensive sets but in heavy to help with survivability and i wear engine gurdian to help with sustain. If the right stat procs at the right time you will feel unkillable.

My personal take on pvp is that wearing a certain combination of armor or using a build can only carry you soo far. The most important part is learning how to play against other classes, learning how to play to your builds strengths and how to avoid its weaknesses. Everybody plays the game differently and the ability to find a build tailored to you is best done through trial and error.

With that being said there are set combinations that are all around mathematically superior to everything else but learning to play vastly out weighs build and it isnt even close.

The best way is to get a rotation where all your power is on the front bar and you have a few buffs/Dots on the back bar. Try to get really good at maximizing the full power of purifying light even through bar swaps. That means you are spending most of your time on your front bar. Also even though sweeps has great benefits, you will parse much higher using ele weapons.

I wear roughly the same armor set up as you. Mothers sorrow, false gods, zaan and malestrom staff. 2 fire staffs. Front bar precise fire enchant and back bar absorb magicka glyph infused. Jewlery all blood thirsty.

Ele weapons, purifying light, inner light, radiant oppression blazing spear, ice comet.

Unstable wall, vamps bane, harness magicka, solar barrage, trap beast, crescent sweeps.

Even with crazy lag and controller sticking i can hit in the 60s on a cheese parse (using ghastly eyeball drink)

Another way to improve dps on a parse is to get better during execute

Ok mate time to work on your rotation.
    Main pain points:
    1. You are refreshing trap beast waaaaay too often, it is a 18 seconds dot, you refresh it every rotation.
    2. You have no proper rotation, feels like you are spamming skills.
    3. Sometimes you spam light attacks instead of dealing damage.

Since you lack a proper rotation, lets try a static one:
Shards, wall, reflective light, backlash, ele weapon X5, backlash, shards, wall, reflective light, trap beast, focus rune, backlash, ele weapon x4, rinse repeat.
For ult sweep instead of 1 ele weapon on cooldown.
Line it up so it is easy, during execute swap to wall+jesus beam. If you want to keep solar barrage, then swap it with reflective light in the previous rotation, and the use vampire bane morph instead of focus rune (looks like you dont have sustain issues)

Now. Slow down. You are mashing buttons. Take it easy, get the timing right. Light attack. Skill. Light attack. Skill. When you get it down correctly it will help you in pvp too.

Edit: was it video of @op that wanted help? Or another guy that wanted help too, i am confused.

Its ps4 theres always tons of controller lag issues. Skills and bar swaps not happening even though i press it. Had my enchant run out in execute. Alot of missed skills but we make due. The other player was saying he is in the 50's with the same exact build on ps4. I was showing him that its very easy to get in the 60's even with crazy lag.

    5/1/1 Inferno, sword and shield.vampire

2x bloodspawn, 5x New Moon frontbar, 2x potentates backbar, 5x Transmutation,

    Bar1 (new moon inferno):
Elemental drain, purifying light, toppling charge, jabs, inner light, crescent sweep

Bar 2 (potentates sword and shield):
Extended ritual, degeneration, elusive mist, rune, honor the dead, temporal guard.

Buff with ritual, rune. Hit target with degeneration, ele drain, purifying light, charge, sweeps, jabs.

You get excellent damage mitigation from transmutation, rune, temporal guard passive and potentates. Mist aswel if u activate it for mobility.

Burst is excellent if executed as stated above. Put all damage glyphs on jewellery and weapon power glyph on your inferno.

I run Shackle and BTB with grothdarr. Double destro with ice staff back bar.
    5-1-1 light.

Works totally fine, you’re not super tanky but with RAT (not a vampire) and simple positioning/low you should be just fine.

    I run:
Sweeps, flex but usually reflective for ranged weaving, pl, dark flare, toppling.
Channelled focus, RAT, ele drain, honor the dead, ext ritual.

All SD glyphs on jewellery, sd mundus, wmpb food, 3 tristat glyphs, rest mag.

I agree, bubble to me isn’t great, the dmg return morph is alright in duels but when there’s more than 1 person I don’t rate it a lot, the other morph that snares and heals is a waste of a slot to me, depends what you’re doing.

You have to face facts on magplar: you can’t build for it all and if you want to do any form of damage you have to sacrifice on survival or sustain and hope that you can keep enough pressure up to get the kills - which you will.

If you’re in a group, you’ll be totally sound, even dropping dark flare for something else.

If you’re solo you’ll ruin BGs, do pretty good in duels and will be able to pack up the noobs in Cyrodil.

Just don’t expect to obliterate decent players. Especially those getting carried by brp.

At the end of the day, your damage won’t compare to the simple rotations stam dk or necro have and you won’t be as tanky as anyone good using brp, but you should be alright 90% of the time.
    vMSA - Magplar - Xbox EU - 15/11/16
    578,000 - 36 Minutes 58 Seconds (Top 2 World?)

vMSA - Magplar - Xbox NA

I run Overwhelming Surge, Hollowfang Thirst or Light of Cyrodiil (if I need more survivability) with either Zaan's or Ciannait monster set for PvE.
