My group, on separate occasions, have ran into issues where the boss stands on the rune and does not deactivate the fire for a very long time - which sometimes results in wipes. We've tried moving him around on the rune but it's not always a guaranteed deactivation.

I have seen with two different PUG on PS4 / NA, Unhallowed Grave, normal, where some of the group will grapple up, find the blue sigil on top, activate it, then the tank will taunt the boss over the lit sigil on the ground ... and then (many seconds later) we all die from the fire AOE. The boss does not "stomp his mighty sword into the ground" like the Alcast guide says he should. The boss just stands in the lit circle, swinging his sword around, while the group all dies from the fire AOE. And the tank dies in the lit sigil next to the boss who is standing in the lit sigil. Very frustrating. I have finished Unhallowed Grave with a PUG, and with that group we killed that boss on the first try, by doing what the guide said. With the other two PUG, we kept trying, and failing, as described above, until the PUG gave up.

He has a very small shield on him.
You need to bring the boss to the sigil... and dps down the shield while he is in the sigil to get him to slam his sword down.
If you dps down the shield before you go up, he won't do the mechanic.
