DC Character unable to access Auridon Bank

I've got an interesting question/problem for everyone. I have different Alliance characters. All of them can enter any bank in any Alliance, EXCEPT for my DC character that for some reason, cannot access the Vulkhel Bank in Auridon. My room at the Inn is here, do all of my crafting here and there is a Dolmen right outside of town. Am I missing something or ?

When you say you "can't enter the bank", at what geographical point do you find yourself blocked?
In-game username: Un1korn | Happy member of the PCNA UESP guild (Resident Daggerfall Covenant enjoyer) | Main & basically only character: Crucian Vulpin, Imperial Dragonknight of the Daggerfall Covenant, and Undaunted Bulwark (I tank) | Mountain bike enjoyer and vulpine appreciator | If you know me from PCEU: No | To ZOS: THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME BRING MY HORSE INTO BATTLE!

At the door of the bank. "Enter" is grayed out. Has been for a month now. Any of my other characters, any Alliance, can enter the bank. Strange.

Have you done the quest in town? I know that the guards lock you out of the city at the perimeter until you do quest. You may be getting around that by using inn room? Try going to regular wayshrine and see if guards intercept you between wayshrine and bank, and if there is a quest available.

Well, that is interesting. Let me check this out and see if that explains it. Thanks for the info!

The bank in Vulkhel Guard is inside another building and exists in a room inside that building..
After careful consideration (and oh! so much deliberation) we have concluded that you circumstance sounds too much like a l2p issue for it to be just a mere coincidence.

Of course. I was stating that I could not get into the "building".

Well my Bosmer knows a way around for ya. Servants entrance. Just past the other DC members, waiting to be part of the Delicious Charity Blueberry pies banking event.

Damn! If I had wings, I could probably fly up to the balcony and just enter that way!

@Dagoth_Rac You were right. It has been a few years since I had to do the "get a disguise to get past the guards" quest that I forgot all about it for a newer character. Thanks so much!

Well, I'm guessing the banker in the Outlaws Refuge would still welcome you with open arms. :)

Reason why it was bugging me is I like to be able to access the my Guild Bank/Store, and you can't do that in the Outlaws Refuge. Plus I'm lazy and didn't want to travel to another zone.

    Truth! :)

To be honest, I did the Vulkhel Guard town quests so long ago on my DC main that I forgot about any issues with accessing the bank.

And one of my alts is currently living in Vulkhel Guard, and he hasn't had any problems accessing the bank even though he hasn't done any of the town quests yet-- but he's a High Elf, so...

So I'm glad you started this thread, because if any of my other DC characters visit Vulkhel Guard, now I won't be confused as to why they can't get in the bank.

"B-b-but Mr. Guard, sir, I don't even want to interact with the banker; I just want to absorb the skyshard on the balcony!"

Oh, yes! "I gotta have that SKYSHARD!"

Most of my DC characters have visited that area without any problems, both for the skyshard and to mudball the queen, without having done the quest. I suspect that OP's character may have been part way into the questline, which is when I think that central area becomes blocked off. There is an alternative bank available without leaving the zone, in Skywatch.

I have a DC writ alt parked in Vulkhel Guard, training horse next to wayshrine, doing writs, going in and out of bank daily as he pleases. I had no idea the town should be locked to him. He is an Imperial though, not a default DC race, but a DC member nonetheless.

I'm a little confused. I've never had to do a disguise to get by the guards no matter what alliance my people are. I pop in and out through the wayshrine, sometimes through the inn. Every new character hits the wayshrine, runs to the manor, grabs the skyshard, then goes on to Glenumbra and Davon's Watch ditto.

I agree with both of you that I have another DC character used for crafting that resides in Vulkhel Guard. He has never had any problem accessing the bank. Just this one character, a Templar, that could not enter. Maybe there is something in the creed for the Vulkhel Manor that requires a secret handshake (quest). Who knows, but I'm a happy camper now as I can saunter from my room at the Inn in my robe and slippers over to the bank without a problem.

I think I just identified your problem-- failure to sport Altmer-approved robe and slippers. ;)

Like you, I suspect the OP is partway through the quest. I have many characters of different races and alliances and have never had any problem entering the Manor House/Bank.

There's also the banker in the Vulkhel Guard Outlaw Refuge.

It’s one part of one quest in the AD questline: A Hostile Situation. If you have not done that quest, you would never have encountered the scenario that requires the disguise. If you’ve done the AD line, however, you must have done that quest and used the disguise at some point.

Nope, haven't done any of the AD quests - I'm not really very involved in AD (other than the Bosmer and Khajiit). That explains it, thanks @virtus753!

I guess this is exactly what happens - the quest was started and so the guards block the central area off until it is done.
