We kick off the first round of the base dungeon competition with a trudge through the water as WAYREST SEWERS battles ARX CORINIUM! Who will be the trudgiest? What does that even mean? YOU DECIDE!

A list of the overall action for BOTH the base and DLC competitions can be found HERE, so people can get a quick glance at the overall action.

All fights will go for TWO DAYS and end at 8PM CST (or your timezone equivalent; figure it out) so this one will end on March 16th.

May the best dungeon win...FIIIIIIIIGHT!!!

Arx is far more unique than Wayrest Sewers in terms of map and encounters. Boss mechanics are also more interesting, or at least they were when you weren't able to just ignore them. And the lack of a version 2 makes you wonder what, if anything, was planned for it.

99.9% of the time, the "door bug" is caused by someone aggroing the crocs in the very first room and never getting around to killing them. They don't disengage and they lock you in combat.

Even though Arx is more beautiful visually, and has more interesting mechanics, I chose Wayrest because of Allene Pellingare being her badass stamblade self!

I just can't stand seeing Arx Corinium anymore... I think if the mechanics on the last boss weren't so easily ignored nowadays, it would actually be quite a nice fight. But when I didn't have DLC dungeons, Wayrest II was one of my first favorites (partially cause I was a low CP noob healer and actually felt like I was needed there with outhealing stuff) and out of these three it's the one I'd most enjoy running. Not a lot of mechanic, but a teeny bit.
TBH I wish I wasn't so tired of Arx Corinium, cause it's such a beautiful environment in theory... but I can't get myself to appreciate it.

Arx is funner than either Wayrest dungeon.

Good matchup here. Arx is unique and has better scenery and fights than either of the Wayrest dungeons, but it doesn’t get my vote.

I love the story behind Wayrest Sewers II, and I love the idea 5at it’s all happening right underfoot in one of the busiest cities in the game, with everyone above going about their loves like normal, completely unaware.

The only really interesting thing in WS is the Malubeth fight with the altars. (And seeing people die from Allene doube-stabbing them. ) I've never found out what the point of the flying things in the last fight is, or what they're supposed to represent.

As daemonios said, the reason for the "bug" at the door is that one of the group aggroed something in the first room (either a skeleton, or one of the crocodiles under the various bridges), and the group never got around to killing it.
As such, it shouldn't be called a bug, it's an anti-rushing mechanic. ;D

Also, WS is a prime example of the Fantasy Sewer System. Their main purpose is _not_ waste management, their main purpose is dungeoneering and being a hideout for {d6+3} competing (far too large) factions and monster parties.

Arx has more ideas even though you can burn through most of them nowadays. "Let's hide under a bubble while the enemy screams us to death" (later re-purposed for everyone's favourite vMA round), the boss healing from nearby group members (which can still frustrate PUGs five years later), the various stuff in the last boss fight (esp. now that they've fixed the island)... It's not my favourite by far but it wins this round, clearly.

If you kill all trash before rushed this door you'll never have any bug.
Most of the time it's just one trash left hiding in the sewer at entrance.

Also, didn't vote, all of them are bad looking and playing.

It was probably a mistake to set 1 and 2 against each other AND give a third option, because 1 and 2 are apt to split the vote.

Anyhow, Wayrest 1 for me because the hallway fights are messy enough to be fun, and because I've been lucky enough to miss most of the bugs.

It was the only decent way to make sure the next round would be back to a 1v1 format, while ALSO fulfilling the most important criteria: the least amount of trouble/effort for me to organize
