Addons for timing weaving

Hi all,
So im trying to "git gud" on my weaving as my dps in vivo seems to be stuck at reaching max 25k single target.

One problem is Im failing tracking durations of WOE, degeneration and so on. My attention always drifts to the screen action instead, making me misstime or forget refreshing. My current UI setup has too small icons advertising time left on effects.

I suppose i could spend a dreary long time practising a static rotation on dummy, but id still like some addon support for live action.

so tell me, whats your tips on addons with The most un-ignorable, in your face timers for tracking effects?
Preferably huge colorful timers covering the center of the screen.. Forcing awareness..

Makes no sense, you have to set your rotation in stone, calculate how much time each effect lasts, then you just press 1,2,3,4,5 swapbar 1,2,4,5 (example). Liquid lightining usually should last during 2 bar rotation, so basicly you dont have re-apply it in the chaotic way.

    Not all rotations are static.

OP, what tracker are you currently using? Srendarr is super customizable so you should be able to adjust that to fit your needs. I believe Action Duration Reminder recently added a feature that alerts you when a skill is about to run out?

There's no point to dynamic rotations when static ones are easy to learn and are equally powerful. Plus when you have a static rotation, you learn muscle memory that will help you out in a real encounter in a trial. So just learn the sequence of your rotation and you'll be fine.

Action duration reminder is all I’ve ever really used. It’s all muscle memory after a little while so addons are not really needed but ADR does help keep track of what’s active and needed refreshed.

Not a fan of srendar personally but know others who really like it.

GCD addon is quite useful and helps time your light attacks based on when the GCD is due to expire.

I used to have Srendarr and Action Duration Reminder, but they didn't really help me, so I dumped them. I'm currently using Light Attack Helper, Combat Metronome and Fancy Action Bar. The last one takes a little while to get used to, but after that, it's pretty cool.

Action Duration Timer is very useful, I cannot play without it anymore. Easy to use, not intrusive and no configuration needed.

Srendarr is also nice, I mainly use the whitelist option to track buffs from sets. It takes some time to set this up but its worth the effort.

A dynamic rotation gives a relative small benefit, to avoid getting overwhelmed I would first practice a static rotation and focus on light attacking with every skill.

Thanks for your replies all, yea i suppose that in the end a static rotation, from muscle memory and so on is what one aims for.

I mostly play magsorc bur also abit magdk lately so static rotations work for me.

At The same mechanics and such force one to break rotations with that a timer has its use.
Im also halfway hoping that playing with good visual aid Will help me train a good rotation in actual gameplay as I dont particularly enjoy spending leisure time on dummyhumping (though i realise that that might be the most efficient way).

Raisin: im currently using AUI i think its called(?) but The icons are small and use a non obtrusive visual timer though a glowing outline on The icons.

Ideally id like big translucent bars that shortsen with remaining time, anyone know if there is such a thing?

And thanks all for suggestions so far, ill be sure to check them out!

@qwudd I have no experience with AUI at all, so can't say much about that. I think Srendarr is definitely what you're looking for. I don't use it myself, but it basically lets you choose between a whole lot of different options. You can make different categories of skills and assign screen areas to those categories, then choose in what way the timers will appear there. You can choose between combinations of glowing outlines, timers and bars (though not sure if translucent), and I do believe/hope you can also adjust sizing? It's always been way too overwhelming for me, but I suggest you download it, get a look at the settings and see if you can make your vision come true.

Show Global Cooldown and Light Attack Helper
Global cooldown greys out your skills on the skill bar when they are under cooldown and not usable
Light attack helper shows up on your screen and shows your light attacks/second (for reference best is 1 la/sec, I parse at about 20k on a 6mil, and my weave is usually at .5 la/sec)
Both help you practice your parse before the rhythm becomes muscle memory

Get light attack helper, and configure it to show the MS between la/s. Then what I would recommend is just weaving with your spammable until you grasp the timing. Ms should be between 900 and 1200 on best cases, if you use a channeled skill like rapid strikes or jabs, 1250-1400 is decent too.

More than 1800 ms you missed a light attack, less than 900 you forgot to use a skill. LA/s at the end should be 0.85 as your goal, but the top players get 0.95 (that would be +- 4k dps diff on a 6m dummy).

After you get your light attack timing right, then practice rotation. Not sure which class you play but most of the time you can simplify the rotation a lot for minimum dps difference.

Action Duration Reminder can be set up to display a warning X seconds before an ability's effect runs out. You can even set the warning to be red and very big, if you want.

For practicing LA weave timing, try Combat Metronome. It's quite lightweight and provides a real-time "progress bar" for your GCDs.
It's not really something you want to be using in a trial or dungeon - instead, it's intended to help you learn the right "muscle memory" timing when practicing rotations on a training dummy.

Some Great advice here, really apreciate it! Will try action duration reminder tonight, sounds just like what im interested in. Combat metronome sounds interesting, and Light attack helper. Will check them out aswell!

Ive been thinking i get weaving right with my spammable, but can surely get it more tight with numbers, also i forget weaving alot with my other abilities and know for sure that i have no real method round barswapping and cancelling animation with them.
