Skyshard in Cyrodiil (Temple of Altadoon)

Hello!

How do I obtain the skyshard in Cyrodiil next to Temple of Altadoon?

I reached the "Gate of Altadoon", defeated all NPCs and tried to open a hole into the wall with a "Cold Stone Tribuchet".

Do I open the gate another way? Which game mechanic do I have to apply?

I just want to collect the skyshard.

Your alliance will need to capture the keeps leading up to the gate; when all are linked and owned by an alliance not of the gate the gates will open allowing all types pass. If any keep in the line is disrupted the gates will close.

It's time sensitive and can take awhile to accomplish getting these skyshards so I wish you luck doing it; the best time is to look in low pop campaigns that have large swings of alliances come in to cap the map.

Well, it's the last skyshard that I need. Let's see what happens during the next days...

Sometimes new PvPers actually ask this kind of question in Cyro zone chat.

It does not help that IIRC this is not adequately explained anywhere in the game itself, and all other gates (other than scroll temple gates) in Cyrodiil are destructible.
The only "hint" you get is that the scroll gate does not have a healthbar.

And yeah, it's probably actually explained in the in-game "help" section - but the in-game "help" is generally so unhelpful that I wonder if anyone ever bothers to read any of it.
