Sprint and block

New patch makes it so block will not stop you sprinting, was this intended? Now you have to stop sprinting, then block. Just curious.

This change was actually intended and was tied to the blocking changes in this update. That said, we've been seeing the feedback and are having discussions if/how it can be reverted.

    XB1 NA
Your nerf suggestion is dumb. Learn to counter other players instead of having the game rebuilt to your ability level.

Ew, gross. I don't see why they would intend to do that? Just makes the game less responsive feeling.

I would prefer to keep this change if it meant they'd revert the combat block cancel changes.
    - Dismount a horse with block=cool convenient quirk.
    - Activate skills smoothly and quick with reactive gameplay via block cancel=necessary

Honestly the block cancel changes nearly ruined this game for me. Everything is so slow feeling. People play this game for the fast paced brawler/fighter game feel to it. Was the only MMO game that felt like Street fighter when you were fighting. Now people can easily heal before you get execute in

Couldn't agree more man. It ruined the game for most of the well known high performing people in my guilds. Instantly left to other games after that. Now I do treat it as a cute dress up chill MMO adventure game. I'll jump in PvP to farm ap and for geodes, but not for actual serious pvp. That ship has absolutely sailed. Sad.

Eh seems like they're trying to take any level of actual skilled gameplay out of the game. If you say anything you get in trouble so it is what it is

Yep. Which ironically skill was one of the only things helping us "balance" the imbalance that's been going on so long and exacerbated by power creep and so forth. So yeah...ESO=pick flowers, wear cute outfits, and quest now.

This is the patch/balance stuff that baffles me, the "intended" changes that seem not to make any sense to begin with.

Right? Regen nerfs, Cost reduction changes, Cost increases, subtle changes to how sprint works (my fully upgraded mount just "feels" slower now lol) and now block which essentially got rid of ani canceling. Overall since Nerfmire it feels like they've tried to slow down combat and everything a little bit at a time. And as always ZOS has said one thing while often doing the opposite. So I do believe based on their actions over all this time, their end goal is very slow one skill at a time non solo-able based gameplay.

They wanna turn it into slow turn based combat like you see in E sports games. Problem is, this is not, and never will be an esport. Not even in the runnings. It's game that used to be fun.

Intended? Lol. WHY? I thought this was a bug. The changes to block should just be reverted. 5 years is a little too late to fiddle with the very BASICS of combat.

That’s just my opinion and my opinion has little effect on the game as a whole...it only affects MY choice of the games I choose to play...

what kind of skilled gameplay are we talking about when your opponent cant see the animation of a single ability during whole fight? They just changed it so that people can see animations. Animation cancel is unaffected. GDC is unaffected. And the reason you skilled gamers cant kill anymore is probably only because your opponent can now see what you are doing. Most of the players already know what is going to hit next, you were just killing less experienced players. If you want to kill, try not running heavy armor, 35k resistances, 30k health, 6k health recovery. I just dont remember the last time i saw a player that actually takes damage in pvp. Everyone going in with their vDLC dungeon tank characters, seems like. And then blame the game, when they cant get kills. Like 90% of cyrodiil can easily tank veteran Moonhunter Keep with their pvp chars with just slotting a taunt.

On another note, not being able to block while sprinting is a change i would rather not have.

Lol seeing animations in PvP. What game are you playing...
    -Immortal Redeemer-
    -Extinguisher of Flames-
    -Gryphon Heart-
    -Potato-

If I edited a post, it was for spelling. It is always because of spelling....

All block is messed up, not only block cancel.
I play Bgs mainly and it's a mess you hold block and Dk leap still goes through half the times and stuns you, other times you block the stun, but still receive the full damage out of it, other times it completely bugs break free and you are forced to eat all the stun duration.
Bash cancel seems to work kinda okish, but block cancel sometimes works in some skills, other times it doesn't, then work again.
