As the title suggests, just a quick thank you to ZOS for the latest update. I thought other like minded folks may also appreciate the absolutely massive data space saved via the latest update.

My PS4 ESO used to be just over 120GB... now, following the update, less than 85GB. Though still big, that is much more like it!

There is so much criticism across the forums, its nice to acknowledge when good work has been done.

Thanks!

Yes, less data totally makes up for a buggy update that has literally ,add the game even More unplayable. Can’t wait for Steam to shut this down like they did with Bless 🥱

I would gladly take 70gbs added to the game to have buttons that do things when I press them 👍

They removed 30gb but they broke the game at the same time, so how is that a good job exactly?

This isnt about what is wrong with the game, its about the huge space saving implemented that is massively beneficial to our data storage capacity. Fantastic work ZOS, good job!

I played plenty of content last night, thankfully for myself and those I ran with, the game was no worse performance wise than before.

I almost feel bad agreeing with you OP, because of the backlash I might receive for doing so. But, I will. Yesterday went very well for me. Smooth playing and good times in the new dungeons. Did a couple BGs and then some SR runs on a new toon. I didn't step into Cyrodiil, so I cannot attest to that performance. But overall it was an unexpectedly good patch day given how pessimistic that general populations mentality was. Looking forward to getting back on after work tonight (Xbox X).

Lol, yeah it does, I was playing it for hours last night, I had great fun with no more or less issues than before the update.

And, once again, I am NOT commenting on game performance, I am commenting on the extremely welcome and beneficial data space saving that the update has brought. How can so many folks not understand this simple concept.

My game folder went from 147 GB to 88 GB. I have a lot of space on my drives so it wasn't critical, but still it is appreciated. And I spend 8+ hours a day in game, every day, without issues of any kind - though as I always try to remember to say, since I don't pvp or do group content it's unlikely I'll ever have problems like those of you who do.

Given the current figures on Steam Charts, you might have to wait a considerable time for that to happen.

Good, now maybe they can use that extra 35gb for specifically PvP performance and/or new content...

See, this is the thing with exaggeration. There is really only so far you can reach.

An unplayable game is unplayable. That's like saying something made a dead person more dead.
But the game is obviously playable and people seem to be enjoying the game despite your contention. Seriously, though, what kind of person wishes for a game they play to be shut down?

Yup, xbox players also got a nice chunk of hard drive space freed up, but dang, I had no idea the game was even more bloated on playstation. Yikes! A lot of us don't use externals, so if stuff doesn't fit, it gets deleted.

Updated last night. Took about 3 hours. Got my pet. Did Vet Unhollowed Grave with no combat issues. No Bluescreens. No lag. Didn't really notice a difference on loading times. The only thing I don't like so far is you can no longer dismount by pressing block, but it's not really a big deal, just a small adjustment. Overall, patch doesn't seem to have broken the game like people have been claiming.

    Thank you Zos.

That space saved, is probably mostly due to language packs removed - something which became pretty obvious for many of us last night.

I think this is just silly. This kind of exaggerated negativity seems sadly so prevalent across the ESO forums. Catastrophising literally everything, nothing is good, nothing works, nothing improves, nothing ZOS does is right, everything ZOS does is wrong, no one enjoys the game, everyone is experiencing game breaking issues...

This just isnt reflective of reality for the hundreds of thousands of people who play ESO.

ESO remains one of the most popular and successful MMOs on the market for a reason. The extreme negativity on these forums is grossly exaggerated. I am openly critical of multiple issues in ESO, because there are many issues and areas which should be improved. But I am also appreciative of all that is good, and saving me 35+GB of space, is VERY GOOD... thats what this OP was about.

So you want to thank them for doing something they get paid to do? Oh wait they don't even do that the game runs like trash even worse now.

I hit block on my tank and was stuck in block in stormhaven the entire time........ I couldn't regain any stamina yay great times....

They forced everyone into cp PVP by unlocking the non cp campaign. I can't play bg with my wife anymore meaning we have zero access to a competitive non cp PVP anymore.......

Yep among many many other bugs that they didn't even fix that was reported from their own pts instead ignored them and released a broken patch anyways......

Yep but thanks for saving some of my space on my hard drive yay! That makes room for me to play another game!

Yes, thank you for ruining the core mechanics of the game to improve performance, while actually making performance much worse.
Thanks for clearing 35 GB off our harddrives, all the bug and feedback reports need about as much space as that.
    Great job!

Well, yeah, humans appreciate being thanked for the work that they do, even if they get paid for it. It's motivating and constructive. I enjoy being thanked by my boss for doing my job, even though I'm paid.

I thank employees at places for helping me find what I need or even to listen to my complaints. The way people complain around here, it's like there is no way ZoS can make anyone happy, ever. If I couldn't make anyone happy, I wouldn't try hard either.

Game feels smother to me at least, I wanted to start a thank you thread as well, but lazy as always.

We are too eager to complain but 'Thank you' takes time.

So far not just game takes less space, I feel it's running smother.
