XBOX Update now all is in German

Good start, update massive, all in German now, It did suggested to update another 7GB to have English, very nice I am based on English country. But it did not updated the language, so I am stuck in options menu's I cannot read now I dont know how to get in back in English. Great job already......

WHY IS MY LANGUAGE DEFAULTING TO GERMAN AFTER UPDATE 25 ON XBOX?

We are investigating reports of the language defaulting to German on Xbox One after Update 25 if your console is set to a language other than English, French, or German.
If your game has defaulted to German and you wish to play in English, change your console language to English by selecting the United Kingdom or the United States.
You can change your language and location in your console settings going to Settings -> System -> Language and Location.
Once changed, you will need to restart your console.

Unfortunate you have to do a work-around, but it's a lot better than the alternative. I'll chalk this up as a mulligan...

An in-game language select could fix this issue once and for all. However, it would blow up the client size unfortunately. I guess there's no golden way to handle the language select.

I remember when I changed languages via the console settings a couple of years ago on PS4, I had to re-download a significant chunk of the game. That's not a pleasant experience either.

Funny or not, it's so easy to see this obvious bug that probably just one tester on a real Xbox would have been all it takes to prevent this from going live. Or a console PTS...

Workaround doesnt work... Tried it a couple times. After changing the location to UK it finaly popped an 7.13Gb eso language pack for download...

Once that language pack downloads you should be able to play in English. Changing your location is what triggers the download.

I tryed the work around but it doesnt start downloading the language pack and i dont get the option to download it either when starting up eso.

I hope theres something else to fix this because playing in german is awefull

My console language is set to English, I never play anything in German, because the voice overs are almost always inferior - hence why I said I wouldn't be happy if the language changed to German
French, though... yeesh, now that would really be a problem

I have two Xbox One X in the house and neither of the ESO instances have come up in German. I would love to know what could trigger a bug like this.

You are right though, if there was a console PTS, more eyes on the update might have found this. Due to how the consoles work, I'm not sure MS or Sony would allow a PTS. I play Elite Dangerous as well, on both PC and Xbox, only the PC has had access to betas, consoles were specifically excluded.

Is it only English used for international communication by default, while German is nur für Deutsche Spieler ? Let's make it in Late Latin by default and calm down . "Seniorem Cartis Inlinea" - sounds good .
