Anyone using Stone Fist?

So since the patch where we got the Stone Fist reworked and now where they fine tuned it i saw 3 players using this skill. Every other DK was using dizzy. Seems like not many DKs like it. What a surprise when PTS Feedback was mostly negative. Cast time, ranged spammable for a melee class...

Why is stone fist ranged? Claw and nox breath are melee so we need to stay close anyway and cant take Advantage of range. Why do we have an cast time/instant cast hybrid spammable? Aoe/single target hybrid. We stamdks asked for a valid single target spammable! So many Suggestion in Forum, so many good ones. And you come with this lazy solution no one asked for. Animation are also copy paste from existing skills.

Congrats on giving US a spammable thats so bad 90% of stamdks still stick to dizzy. Awesome.

    I was shocked when I learned that even one dk was using it. It's a mess of a skill with all the negative qualities you mention, plus its animations/graphics is nothing like how people imagine what a dk is like. I dont think that the devs care about such feedback though, I think they will just keep nerfing weapon skill lines until people are forced to use whatever they want us to use.

    It is a senseless skill, in rotation you have to activate it first, and we are talking about the spam skill ... and then use the other skills and then go back to the stone fist..who made this change had to be drunk.
    ZOS thanks for ruining the DK Stamina.

    Strictly PVE speaking, i have used it as a spammable. A little clunky but it hits for about 25k sometimes, so it sometimes makes my numbers look really good.

    Never tried it in PvP though

    Tried it on my tank giving people option of engulfing flames,lightning blockade,or stonefist. Don't have enough skill room for anything else unless I take off talons. Hate using the skill kills any stam I might have lol.

    This stonefist change made me try magDK just to get away from it after testing it so much on the pts. I miss the brutality of stam gameplay but this new stonefist isn't a properly working skill. Clunky and slow when the game is supposed to be about a snappy action combat system. I wish they change but they will probably leave it as is.

    Why does it matter that it is ranged? Are you not allowed to cast a range skill at melee range now? Is it somehow illegal? Considered cheating?

    so you can hit someone from far away before you get into melee range. who the f. cares.

    Every ranged skill can be used at melee range but every melee skill can't be used at ranged. So its an option, it doesn't change anything other than people getting all wound up for no reason.

    The skill itself, yes, the combat team seems to be completely out of touch and have absolutely no grand plan other than tinkering. How long was shrouded daggers a spammable before they changed it again. 1 major patch? (my go to spammable for dual wield that they let me get use to then took away again)

    I think it is probably a general consensus the combat team probably needs a new team leader, and possibly - team. But that is not going to happen because as we have seen, their pride is more important then customer satisfaction and it won't be until they are all out of a job because the active player count drops drastically before they think - hmm, maybe we were wrong?

    Personally, I think they are making spammables and such as clunky as possible to make it harder to weave and cancel animations.

    I slot it sometimes, when there are Dizzy Swing spammers around (yes, I'm not good at handling those). It's nice to apply DOTs, just kite them around a bit and have them knocked down - then HA -> Leap - Executioner. I like the new "DK Turd Toss" morph. It doesn't really harm, but it's a nice tool in certain situations. For us without thumbs.

    I still have no idea, why Zeni so heavily against small cooldowns for some powerful skills. Is it really worth to destroy already broken combat system with this cast times instead of try something new?

    Because every ranged skill has a minimum traveltime that always occurs even if you are at point blank range. This additional traveltime gives your enemy a lot of time to react to your skills.
    Additionally the benefits from range doesn't help you because you won't kill anyone with your single spammable alone.

    So you get a small benefit for a huge detriment that's so punishing that you'll rather choose another skill that doesn't have this traveltime because you'll want to be in meele as much as possible anyway.

    In addition the first cast isnt even ranged. Its an aoe around you and then you can poop some rocks from distance at your enemy. The range part of this skill is just useless and doesnt even fit stamdk.

    I can come up with a better idea in just one second that fits the name of this ability even more:

    A powerfull Punch with your fist supported by stones.

    Easy, fits stamdk more and you feel like you are in synergy with the earth around you. Instead of throwing some poop rocks at your target that even has a cast time in the beginning.

    I use the other morph: Stone Giant. Because besides the stagger, it increases overall group dps.

    If I had a stamina-based dragonknight, I'd absolutely be using this skill. It's inspired me to make a stamina dragonknight again, though I don't know when I will be making that character. I'm still polishing out his/her character concept.

    I use the other morph: Stone Giant. Because besides the stagger, it increases overall group dps.

    I'd be curious to see your take after this patch. Dragonhold stone giant was ok for me as a spammable. I have had a more difficult time adjusting to the Harrowstorm version of this skill, where it behaves quite differently on the different casts.

    It’s slow and clunky. I don’t like the initial cast time or the travel time of the poop rocks.

    Who is this skill actually for? It certainly does not feel like a stam dk dps spammable in pve or pvp anymore.

    I played stamdk as my Main until they nerfed ransack/heroic and reverb combo to absolutly useless. Nobody wants to spam a shield bash ad their main damage skill when i have a sword in my other hand (good job ZOS, really smart).

    So with that spammable i was kinda hyped to use my dk again with sword and board and stone fist spammable. But skill is just trash. Guess my stamdk stays as being a trolltank when i get bored. Really good direction you going there ZOS, clearly giving everyone the "powerfull" feeling.

    It doesn’t seem like a DPS spammable, but it has become one of the most important group debuffs. Depending on class and how many DoTs are used, triple stagger adds 3-5k DPS to everyone in a group.

    Stonefist is so terrible that the skill it replaced was better in almost every way. 28 meter ranged stun and the stone giant morph also gave you minor resistances that could stack with the major ones. Also not to mention if you were a magDK a successful stun made the thing deal like 10k+ damage in a single hit, which was good for a damage rotation.
