Lore no longer pops up with notification or sound

So I made two new characters and neither one gets any notification when discovering new lore books. Skill books are working fine, any other lore from bookshelves, tables, papers etc., make no sound and do not give the small message that is suppose to appear on the right side of your screen. These are all still working fine on my older characters that have been around for a long time. It is on affecting the two new ones I recently made this month.

You're probably on PC, so I don't know if maybe it's different there, but you're referring to the "normal" lore, right? Not the Mages Guild lorebooks (the one with the purple glow), but the regular stuff we find everywhere that gets added to the lore collection?
Do the two new characters you made have the "eidetic memory" skill that you get from finishing the Mages Guild quest line? And do the older ones have it? Pretty sure this has something to do with it, since I had a similar situation, where I was playing for a while with a toon that had the skill and was used to the notification popping up whenever I found something new - but then, after creating a new character and playing with him, suddenly that didn't happen anymore, until, at some point, I got the eidetic memory skill. So maybe that's what it is?

No I am on Xbox One X and have not completed the mages skill lines on the new characters yet. Some of my older characters have though. It's strange because any new lore I pick up in the newer zones will always give me a notification on an older character The new ones only get notifications from the skill books and ones from shalidors library. Any other lore with the gold auras on them do nothing so not even sure if they are counting towards lore I have read. Oh well, as long as I get shalidor so I can grind out mages skill line it's no biggy. I wonder if it's a bug or something in a patch that maybe only affects newly made characters.

That’s consistent with the way Eidetic Memory works. Once you have it unlocked on a specific toon, all the “gold” lorebooks from anywhere in game give a notification and appear in that section of your Lore Library on that toon. Until you get EM, though, those books will be added silently and remain hidden in your journal. They’ll show up once you finish the Mages Guild.

Do you have any older characters who get these notifications for all books despite not having done the Mages Guild line? They would be the exceptional ones. Perhaps they somehow got bugged to reveal it prematurely.
