Mag sorc or mag necro?

Hello all, I really like necromancer stuff, but I am wondering who would perform better in PvP, or rather does mag necro can be good, I know that sorcs are probably better and easier, but I don't mind putting more effort as long as I can win. So, should I go for necro? Or it is totally useless?

Been playing magsorc for 6 years, best range mag class for sure even with the nerfs it's gotten. Very fun and easy for any kind of pvp. I also tried to make my mag necro a range build but its very lack luster for range damage, blastbones just doesnt do enough on its own and there is no other worth while range ability IMO. It really shines in AOE/harmony if you like that kinda play style, which hits very hard.

You're comparing the best Magicka class (Sorcerer) to the worst Magicka class (Necromancer). Without using the Harmony self-synergy gimmick, which I personally think is nerf-bait anyway, Magicka Necromancer's offense is fairly bad. All you really have is Blastbones, a spammable, and an ultimate, while lacking a reliable offense-oriented stun. And although Blastbones is absolutely more reliable than it was prior to the Harrowstorm patch, it still has issues.

Magsorc is all about burst damage while maintaining high mobility and decent sustain with Shields as defence, on the other hand Magcro is about ....not much to say actually. Blastbones which dont work, class spammable is comparable to and decent mag spammable such as Force Pulse. Dots, nothing much in this department either.
All they have is a Ulti and a lot of defence amd sustain inbuilt in passives. I'm currently working on a Magcro build, let's see where it lands.
Also, it makes me wonder if magcro is at bottom or magblade cause in terms of passives Magcro got a upper hand on Magblade for sure.

I have both. I've played my sorc since release. It is kinda of boring. The meta build has been the same forever. On the plus side, it is cheap to gear out, and works well. With Destro and S&B you can be surprisingly tanky. Burst and mobility is effective no matter what the meta is. The class is good in a group, small group, or solo. Negate is probably the best PVP ultimate in the game.

Necro...hmm. Nothing else like it in the game. It is a funky class, and because of that I play it almost exclusively now. You really need a group. Zero mobility. No execute. No CC worth mentioning. Buggy skills. In a group or small group, I can put out some crushing damage, and be tanky as all get out in light armor.

Necro is 100% better as stamina, but then so are most classes.

It's the player, not the class.

While I do agree to a point, I was hoping for a more constructive answer :p
