Why is my 2 handed damage around 100 greater than my s/b?

I'm guessing I'm missing something simple but I can't figure it out. I took all skills off the bars, I have all the passives for s/b and basically none for 2 handed. I'm a nord, necromancer, I have sharpened axe on s/b and an infused 2 handed axe, all equipment is purple. Why is my 2 handed weapon damage 87 more than my s/b? S/b has the 5% passive, I can't figure out why my weapon damage isn't higher with it. Thanks in advance for any help/explanation.

Twohand weapons and duel wield grant a bigger base weapon and spell damage. Thats all about it.

S&B are meant for tanking...aka taunting and sadly not a lot of damage.

Because of the weapons themselves. In the two slots, a 2h(all damage) takes both slots. In duelwield, damage in both slots. In s&B, damage in one slot, armor in the other.

Say that to bows and staves....

On topic: two-handed melee weapons (i.e. swords, axes and maces) have higher base weapon damage than their one-handed or ranged counterparts. Dual Wield gets extra weapon damage from one of its passives.

Because base 2H damage is higher. Just look at your 2H axe tooltip.

lol, um yea, pretty sure that's not right.
and pretty sure its as stated, tanks aren't meant for high dps…..aka "tank" and that skill line/tree isn't meant for damage. Kinda wish it did have a bit more but meh, that's the game. ;)

Did you just disagree then say essentially the same thing just worded differently?

The reason it that s/b also gives armor and armor enchant.. Obviously you cannot put that on 2h weapon.. There is balance
