Does anyone bother collecting lorebooks after reaching Mages Guild Level 10?

I finally have Meteor as my ultimate after collecting so many lorebooks. Is there any reason/reward to collect any more of these?

don't believe there is any reward, but I know that several people (myself to some extent) still like collecting them, if you don't want to there is no reason to AFAIK.

Just for completionist's sake. I have all of them on my main, but don't bother after Meteor on the other chars.

On my main? Yes. The completionist in me won't allow me not to. On my alts? nah. There is no reason to it other than not seeing them on your map addons anymore or if you're a book reading junkie.

So I did it on my main when they released housing (there are furnishing items available). I wanted a library of all the books in my house. Thankfully, I didnt buy them all at once. I realized very quickly that ZOS cant design a functional bookshelf and that housing storage limits are absurdly low.

I don't think you get any reward for it, but I keep doing it anyway just for the sake of finding and reading the books.

After 5 years of collecting these things and hearing from all of you, guess I'll keep after it and see if I can get the entire collection. Thanks everyone!

Why? ...I'll grab one I don't have if I find myself standing right next to it, but I certainly won't spend time seeking them out after level 10 mage guild.

Yes, for housing items. You have to finish the entire collection of books to be able to purchase the set from vendor to put in your house.

    Also yes, because lore.

How many of you completionists wake up screaming in the middle of the night screaming that you are missing a lorebook because you can't access it due to it being locked behind a quest you can no longer access? That's the main reason I've shied away from the lorebooks, it would drive me bonkers.

I still will but I generally won't go too much out of my way to grab them. But with my current main it's only level 6 because I won't be using any of their skills. On the other hand Fighters Guild has been 10 for a long long time.

If I see one I will pick it up, but only on my main character will I go out of my way to pick up a book.

Really? I thought I had read a few posts about that here and there? Was it a thing and is now fixed or am I just bonkers all on my own without ESO?

After level 10 mage skill line. I have an interest in Azura-based lore etc so I ran the zones needed to obtain all books that referenced her for housing/shrine. (My Cathedral, Which is still lacking Azuras furnishing pack) ...and am starting to accept always will. Sigh

It’s tough to furnish with books because of the tight limits, sadly, but I use a couple book collections in smaller houses I have. Be advised that finishing some collections will require you to go into PvP land, as those books are only in Cyrodiil.

Outside of putting Lusty Argo.. khm, your favourite book on a bedtable/under the bed they are pretty worthless as furnishing items to be fair. Each book takes a furniture slot and it is more or less impossible to put those books in a bookshelf in a way that will look good and keep them interactable.

I have been doing it on my main character, going back to all the zones and finding them when I don't really feel like doing anything else

Don't see myself doing it on others except if I'm running the zone/area for quests anyway.

I wont avoid lorebooks at mages guild 10, I just stop going out of the way to get them on those characters.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Heck yeah I do. Anything shiny I leap at. Sure alot of the collections arent directly tied to skills or performance. But as many others said, the completionist in me aims for all them and a high ESO gamer score for the sake of enjoying all the ins and outs of the game rather than straight min maxing. You discover tiny details too you may have missed in various areas.

No, there still are. You can group up with somebody doing the quest to get it.

The Dead-Water Riddle Fragment is bugged if you don't read it while on the quest, and grouping won't fix it.

The Sealed Letter (quest starter for Elsweyr) is as well.

I collect them even on characters that never join the Mages Guild (which applies to the majority of my characters). I won't go out of way to obtain them, unless it's a book I'm really interested in or if it's the last book in a collection.
