Undaunted coffers - too much matter of luck

With this thread i would like to appeal to ZoS to re-create the Undaunted coffers on the way that they offer only one shoulder piece, so not 50:50 chance of getting the wanted one.
I.e. Grothdarr and Tremorscale coffers separated.
I am open to possibility that from that specific coffer reserved for just one shoulder piece players continue to have only 33.3% of chance to get the wanted armor one, but that's the most far i would like it to go in the matter of luck, because so small chances to get the wanted piece nowadays really leads many players who aren't that lucky to the state of frustration and possibly giving up from getting wanted sets.
I am aware of the fact that ZoS has even made that to be less dependent of the luck in the past making it 50:50 only, but still some players need more than the month and more than 20 tries to get their wanted shoulder pieces from these coffers while playing Dungeons - that they don't like to play because they are pvper's who don't like pve! - dedicated and in blind hope every day.

And if somebody - there are such people too even if it is more rare - likes to test their luck, why not to create some specific game content or event or whatever in which they could have the chance to test it till the Judgement day! :D

Level of the luck cannot be influenced by the human, so it makes this thing unfair.

P.S, Same as the open world sets random drops, and the other stuff like that that highly depends only about luck...

    Well I just tried tonight for the 7th time to get any sort of Grothdarr shoulders. For the 7th time, a Tremorscale piece was my reward. I've also seen 23 Red's in a row at the roulette table, so random is random, luck is luck.

    But the issue here is that - as i already wrote - luck isn't the thing that depends of the humans will, so in the case of the people who dislike to play with luck and want to be sure that after the dedicated maybe even hard work they are getting the wanted one with 100% chance, such reward system isn't right and fair.

    Completely different subject is everything connected with hard work, skill practice or longer duration of some task that leads to some goal, because human being is able to choose is he going to work more or less hard, practice their skills more or less time or even don't practice at all, or take more or less of their free time to get what they want.

    While I don't think myself that it's much of an issue - unless it's deep endgame, different monster helms work, different weights can be made to work, wrong traits account for less than a percentage point of difference, and so on and so forth - I do think that adjustments should be made for random drops to mitigate outliers who end up with an unlucky streak of rolling zero for long time. Statistically, they always will exist, and it can be frustrating. Not just in Undaunted, but in case of any random drops in the game.

    I was pondering on a solution that would limit the bounds of randomness and made some 'fairness' into distribution. Record history of drops in player's server data. The longer they don't get that Grothdarr heavy, or that Maelstrom inferno, the higher those pieces' probability of drop gets for the subsequent run, until at some point it's internally a guaranteed drop (and then probabilities are reset to default average ones). This way, there'll be a hard (if maybe large) limit to how long one can farm for a certain piece, while at the same time they can get it right away if they're lucky.

    imo RNG does not feel rewarding. even if on the surface odds are 50/50.
    It only feels frustrating when you don't get what you worked hard for.
    This is true for loot and crown crates alike.
    Just give us the option to get what we worked for with keys. I don't mind if the number of keys needed are double or triple the number needed for rng box. I'd rather work on it longer to get a guaranteed reward than having to slog through lots of rng-misses because the odds were not in my favor that day.
    What are Natch Potes? Can you eat those?

    After my sixth Velidreth, I'm starting to agree with you. Hopefully the Golden will have Chudan for me, and whichever you wanted, in the not-too-distant future.

    I have no idea if the Golden is on a long rotation, or if RNG lives there too. With my luck ...

    Just be glad it's 50/50. Used to be the only option was to take a chance at the entire loot pool (they are now the 1 key coffers you can buy).

    Undaunted keys are also a currency now, so you can use them from any character on a specific one, instead of logging.

    So, things have already been weighted to be much more "player-friendly", with much better chances for you, the player.

    Sorry about your luck, but RNG is RNG, and I don't think they will ever get rid of RNG in an MMO like this, because there is an incentive for you to keep playing, even if they have reduced that drastically with changes they've made (these coffers, transmutation, group trading, etc.)

    Which I think are actually better in the early stages of looking for a shoulder piece when you don't have any at all, because you always get 1 piece PLUS assorted loot. So you end up with an assortment, some of which might be useful and the correct weight for its type, even if it's not something you're looking for right now.
    Yes, it's not necessarily the set you want, but during that time doing dungeons for keys the shoulder you want might end up at the Golden. And lots of sets are interesting and useful if not necessarily BIS.
    And some people get stupid weird luck where it's always the wrong shoulder many times in a row burning 5 keys each time.

    Furthermore, some events and limited time offers use Undaunted keys as currency now, so it might in fact be better to save all your keys for those (priced at FIFTY keys?) and wait for the Golden. Unless you are willing to grind out a lot of keys doing so many dungeons you get burnt out on the game and start asking for RNG to be removed from Undaunted Chests.

    @tmbrinks is right.

    It used to be a lot harder in the years before the Undaunted Store debuted.

    Even at 1 key per shoulder it was a “daunting” task to get your shoulder in such a large loot table. ;)

    And just so we're clear.

    I'm happy they've made the changes they have.

    I'm also happy there is still a little bit of "grind", as there is some sense of accomplishment. (Even if some of that is RNG based)

    I think they've found a happy medium, because it was grindy as hell at the beginning. (I spent over 350 keys to get my medium divines grothdarr back in the day, and I don't think anybody should have to do that much!)
