ESO won't launch

I tried to log in yesterday after a short absence. There was a fairly long update. Afterwards, when I clicked on "PLAY" , nothing happened. I don't get any error messages, the "Play" button just relights every time.
If I choose the PTS server, I get into the game as usual, no problems at all. So it's unlikely to be a problem on my end, although anything is possible...

First try repairing from the lancher then restart the PC.

I'm case that doesn't help @ZOS_BillE might have other suggestions.

You can also try making sure you're running the game as admin, and running the game directly without using the launcher. Not a fix, but at least will probably let you play for now.

Along with the suggestion of running the launcher as an admin, you should check your anti-virus and ensure you have the correct exceptions for both game and launcher. A full rundown can be found here.

I tried running a repair earlier, and running as administration. Neither made a difference. But I'll try the repair again, jic. I'll check into the anti virus as well, never thought of that since it was all running smoothly last week, and the PTS is OK.

oh... Not exactly sure how to start the game without a launcher, but should be able to figure that out. At least it will give me my "fix" so life can move on. Thanks again.

Well if you're in steam I don't know how. But basically if you find the ESO folder on your PC, you should be able to find the exe for the actual game itself.
