Can you get animate blastbones to work?

Whenever I cast this ultimate in combat the (up to) three summons just stand still or walk about until they decay.

I've tested this more than 10 times now, and not a single time did any of the blastbones make a leap for my target.

Nowhere does it say they will attack an enemy. It just says summon 3 blast bones from extra corpses
